Final Fantasy 16 Guide – Main Story Quest #39
Hugo Kupka has been defeated, but he’s certainly not down and out just yet. After the end of the last quest, head to the Hideaway. Go down the stairs and speak to Otto. After telling him what’s going on, speak to Mid next. In doing so, this will start a new Story subquest, Getting to Work. This is another compulsory mission to complete before continuing so let’s get to it.

| The first task here is to speak to Charon and Blackthorne. Head back into the main hallway of the Hideaway and talk to them individuals. Next, take the lift down to the pier and speak to Bardolph.
When you’re done, fast travel over to Martha’s Rest using the Obelisk in town. Go into the inn and speak to Martha. The goal here is to find a carpenter called Bernard. Leave the inn, head north over the bridge, and just keep following the red marker that’s shown up on the map. When you reach Bernard, you’ll need to slay the enemies in the area. After doing just that, watch the cutscene, fast travel back to the Hideaway and talk to Mid. This concludes the subquest. |

After completing Mid’s mission, go back to the hospital and check on Jill. She’s recovering nicely so watch the scene play out and then continue on your way. When you’re done, head on over to see Vivian, who’s the next stop on this journey. Watch the cutscene here, as it’ll give you an update on the world and the state of Hugo Kupka.
With no leads to go on, a lucky break comes in the form of a new arrival at the Hideaway. It’s Uncle Byron! Take the lift down to speak to him by the pier. When the cutscene ends, go and find Byron and speak to him again. You finally have your next location – Velkroy Desert. When you’re ready, fast travel over.
