Alice & Jack – Season 1 Episode 3 Recap & Review

In episode 3, we find out that it’s been a couple of years since Jack and Alice last saw each other. One day, Jack receives a wedding invitation informing him that Alice is marrying Daniel. This news breaks Jack’s heart, and he immediately calls Alice, asking her to meet him in half an hour. When they meet, Jack is at a loss for words and doesn’t know where to begin. 

Jack confronts Alice for not telling him about her marriage in person instead of sending him a wedding invitation. The last time they met, Alice said she would only be with Jack, but now things have changed. Alice confesses that she’s fallen in love with someone else, although she still has feelings for Jack. For closure, Jack asks Alice to admit that she’s moved on. Alice agrees, and Jack leaves her sitting on the bench.

A couple of weeks later, Alice unexpectedly shows up in Jack’s life again. Despite his reluctance, Jack invites her in for tea. As they sip their tea, Alice talks about her soon-to-be-husband, who happens to be a sports agent, and shares how they became a couple. Alice explains that she doesn’t want Jack to cut her out of his life or hate her for what she did. She asks Jack to be her man of honour, but he refuses, saying he can’t be a part of it.

Eventually, Jack decides to be a part of Alice’s wedding for her sake. He gives a heartfelt speech at the wedding, expressing how precious Alice is as a person and especially as a wife. However, on the morning of her wedding, Alice has a change of heart and runs away from the marriage.

Three years later, Alice reaches out to Jack again, attempting to re-enter his life by offering him a lucrative investment opportunity that promises to quadruple his investment. Initially hesitant, Jack eventually agrees to put his money into the investment to secure his daughter’s future. As the episode draws to a close, Jack’s investment pays off handsomely, and he becomes a millionaire, all thanks to Alice’s proposition.

The Episode Review

Like clockwork, Alice reappears to shake things up in Jack’s world once more. Just when Jack starts feeling like he’s finally getting his life in order and putting Alice behind him, she swoops back in and throws a wrench in the works.

Three years after walking away from his marriage, Alice crosses paths with Jack again, but this time, she’s carrying a heavy load of guilt for the way she’s played with his heart time and time again.

She knows Jack won’t forgive her easily for the deeds she’s put him through, so she’s resorted to an investment scheme as a way to make amends. Looks like the drama’s far from over in Jack’s life.
