The Simpsons – Season 35 Episode 11 “Frinkenstein’s Monster” Recap & Review

As episode 11 of Season 35 of The Simpsons starts, we are taken 15 years back to an energetic Homer excited about work. A minute later, viewers are taken to the present-day where lazy Homer is falling behind in his company. He is concerned about his life, especially in regard to his career.

However, Homer’s mood improves as he gets a recruitment call from a new nuclear plant. An interview is scheduled. Not long after, Homer starts dreaming of wealth and luxury. With the help of Professor I.Q., Homer nails the interview and is consequently offered the role.

Homer requests Professor I.Q. to take care of the job responsibilities on his behalf. John I.Q. gives Homer special glasses that are capable of transmitting his voice right into Homer’s ears.

Homer’s first day at the new nuclear company goes smoothly. However, the lady who lost the role to him is also an employee in the company, and she doesn’t seem to like him very much.

A couple of days later, she discovers Professor I.Q. has been helping Homer do the job through the special glasses. Subsequently, John I. Q. decides he can no longer help Homer. Homer immediately stumbles in the role as the Professor’s refusal to help renders him vulnerable.

The lady from Homer’s new company tells Marge how Homer used unfair methods to snatch the role from her. Marges urges Homer to tell the truth to his boss. A reluctant Homer tells everyone he’s a fraud, and quits the work. He rejoins his old organization – one that he’s left over 690 times to look for and experiment with other jobs.

The Episode Review

Hands down, the episode in question is the best one this season so far. It’s a unique plot executed magnificently. The involvement of other characters might have jazzed up the episode a bit more. That said, Homer is delightful to watch and cameos from the new characters are excellent. The episodes this season haven’t lived up to our expectations, but the latest episode seems to have changed the course. Where do you think the season 35 of The Simpsons is headed?
