The Masterful Cat Has A Lot Of Worries

In episode 8 of The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today, Yukichi discovers Yume holding a kitten inside a box. When he approaches her, she explains that she is waiting for the cat to get adopted and does not want to abandon her.

Soon after that, it begins to rain. So Yukichi takes Yume and the cat to a lady’s house, as he runs into her on a regular basis. The lady relies on her connections to assure Yukichi and Yume that the cat has been adopted. She also promises to look after the kitten till that person arrives. Yukichi and Yume then run into Yume’s mother who was worried about Yume disappearing.

Yukichi comes across a poster on his way home that mentions an update about a dangerous guy. The leaflet urges people to be wary of the shady person. Later that night, Yukichi grows anxious since Saku is late, especially after seeing the flier. Yukichi then goes out to wait for Saku near the railway station.

On the way, Yukichi notices a couple, the man of whom seems extremely rude and he enters the scene. However, the man appears to be quite frightening, and Yukichi gets scared. Saku appears out of nowhere and saves both the girl and Yukichi. This incident reminds Yukichi of when Saku adopted him as a stray kitten.

We travel back in time to when Yukichi was a stray cat. Saku spots him on a snowy night, picks him up and takes him home. Yukichi is overjoyed to be adopted at first. However, when he arrives at Saku’s house, he discovers that it is completely untidy and in a state of chaos. Yukichi attempts to escape after this, but Saku stops him.

Saku’s kindness and compassion for Yukichi quickly wins his heart. Saku, for instance, is worn out that night, and it is pretty chilly. However, she heads out to get Yukichi cat food. Later that night, Saku builds a little home for Yukichi. She, on the other hand, sleeps in the mess. Following this, Yukichi feels obligated to repay Saku for her kindness.

Saku leaves for work the next morning. However, before leaving, she promises to bring toys and treats for Yukichi. He decides to tidy the home after Saku leaves to help her.

The Episode Review

The episode is mostly made up of three short stories. We begin with Yukichi and Yume helping a tiny kitten to find a home. Following that, we see him growing concerned about Saku when she fails to make it home on time. The final story takes us back in time to understand how Saku rescued Yukichi.

The episode is quite moving, and it makes you care about both the primary characters. This episode draws attention to Yukichi and Saku’s close bond. You can’t help but feel moved by scenes in which Saku adopts Yukichi and he worries about her.

This episode’s flashback segment, in particular, steals the show. It gives both characters substance and allows you to empathize with both of them. Yume, who is always entertaining to watch, is also featured in this episode. Her friendship with Yukichi is adorable, and you can’t help but chuckle at her innocence and cuteness.
