But the show does have a decent showcasing of mystery and action story elements which are worth paying attention to. Evin Ahmad stars as the titular character whose secret past is exposed half a decade later in a foreign land. The expose sends her life into a spiral, forcing her and her family to wade off these demons threatening to pull them apart.

What is Who is Erin Carter Season 1 about?

Erin is originally from Folkestone but ran away with her daughter, Harper, five years previously. She now leads a settled life with her husband Jordi, who is a nurse at General Hospital, in Barcelona. Erin likes to keep a low profile so as to not awaken the sleeping demons from her past. But she inadvertently ends up lighting the fuse when she stops a supermarket robbery and kills one of the robbers in the process.

Things get only worse for her as the person she shoots, Gaspar, belongs to the group she is running away from. After Gaspar’s death, the domino effect kicks in and Erin finds herself in all sorts of trouble. All of this is linked to Jordi’s best friend Emilio (who is a cop) and his ambitious efforts to bring down a local drug cartel. Gradually, the series reveals who Erin was in Folkestone all those years ago and why the gang that she deceived is looking for payback.

Has Who is Erin Carter been renewed for Season 2?

We can confirm that Netflix has not renewed Who is Erin Carter for another season. The series is a “limited series,” which indicates that it was only meant to last a single season. Netflix has rarely renewed a limited series unless the response from the audiences has been overwhelmingly positive. The streaming giants make a decision based on the direction of the story even before a show is released on its platform. Their teams are notorious for giving notes to creatives during the production process to ensure that the viewers get the most from it.

Generally, networks and streaming platforms gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly, other times, it can take months before a network makes a decision over a show’s future.

While it is rare to see a limited series being renewed, Netflix embraces the “never say never” attitude more fervently than other streamers. There is an outside chance that Netflix might renew Who is Erin Carter but the possibility remains slim. The show has not been well received by audiences and critics alike. What do we know about Season 2 so far: 

If Who is Erin Carter was given the green light for Season 2, the writers have a lot to build upon from the first season. We ended the story with Erin and her family spending a relaxing vacation together. But someone whom Erin also betrayed in England apart from Thomas’ gang was Detective Inspector Jim Armstrong.

Jim tracked Erin down after everything that unfolded in the few weeks after the robbery. He had “another task” for Erin, which she might be forced to take given her dicey situation. That could very well make for a good viewing if Netflix decides to renew this one. We are 99.9% certain the show won’t return. But we will wait for a final confirmation nonetheless.
