My Man is Cupid – K-Drama Episode 10 Recap & Review

My Man Is…?

Episode 10 of My Man is Cupid starts with Sang-hyuk aiming at Baek-Ryeon with a cupid arrow. Unfortunately, he misses as she’s chasing after a falling leaf. Meanwhile, Sang-hyuk is outside when Dong-chil approaches him and says he saw him kissing the vet. But what’s strange is that Baek-ryeon is still okay. He reminds him that every girl he had feelings for ended up dying, including Jeong-ah. The deity told him he could not open his heart to a human woman, but Baek-ryeon is still okay. Sang-hyuk says he has been fighting his feelings off, but she looked lovely that night. He was tempted and ended up kissing her.

Meanwhile, Jae-hee is in the office and remembers that Baek-ryeon said that whether Sang-hyuk is a monster, ghost, or alien, she won’t leave him. Ho-jin interrupts and tells him he saw a photo of Sang-hyuk’s great-grandfather at Love Room. But they didn’t find the photo when they went there, as the owner had removed it before their arrival. On the other hand, Do-ra tells the three guys that eye contact is crucial to winning over a girl. Dong-gu’s eye contact is described as hostile, making him feel disappointed. She gives them a photo of a man with inviting eyes, telling them their eye contact with women should resemble such.

Through a flashback, Sang-hyuk remembers Baek-ryeon telling him she’s an angel. At present, Dong-chil and Dong-pal are discussing Sang-hyuk’s kiss to Baek-ryeon. They want to stay safe to leave the human world in peace.

In his illusion, Dong-gu imagines his life with Do-ra and the family they can create. He realises he needs at least two years to create a perfect life. So, he goes out shooting the wrong couples. This reduces the golden part of the arrow, which means they’ll have to wait longer before leaving. Dong-pal and Dong-chil tie him to restrict his movements until it’s their time to go. They look for Sang-hyuk, who threatens to burn the house down. That night, Sang-hyuk couldn’t sleep. He wants to ask Baek-ryeon if she’s an absolute angel.

Elsewhere, we see the mysterious man going through Eun-seo’s bag and finds Baek-ryeon’s phone number. He uses this to lure her into an abandoned house.

Meanwhile, Sang-hyuk arrives at the clinic to ask Baek-ryeon if she’s an angel. He also receives a call about Jae-hee visiting the Love Room. At the police station, Jae-hee wonders where Sang-hyuk could be since he had not reported to work the whole day. Baek-ryeon receives a text from Eun-seo that she’s alive and should meet her at a specific place. To confirm it’s her number, she calls Jae-hee, who confirms that it is Eun-seo’s contact. Just before she could come out, Sang-hyuk drives away.

On the other hand, Ho-jin is busy on the phone and misses Baek-ryeon leaving. The detectives also confirmed that Eun-seo’s number had been on. They immediately start driving towards the location where the phone is traced. Jae-hee tries to warn Baek-ryeon, but she isn’t receiving the call. While at the site, she gets a text again informing her that Eun-seo is with Jae-hee and that she should not go with anyone. When Sang-hyuk is informed about Eun-seo contacting Baek-ryeon, he drives towards the location.

Cautiously but frightened, Baek-ryeon enters the empty house, only to see the guy she had recognised at the conventional drug store. He fights with her and overpowers her. But Baek-ryeon leaves a scratch mark on his neck. Almost killing her, the police arrive, and the guy runs off, leaving Baek-ryeon in a frail frame. It’s at the same house where Eun-Seo is tucked in a drum full of water. She’s taken to the Korea University Hospital, where doctors perform a skull surgery to save her.

While in the operation bed, Baek-ryeon’s afterlife memories come into play, and she can now remember some of the details. But the lead surgeon calls her name before she can see the man she loved. Through her memories, we can see Sang-hyuk also protecting her, as he does in the present life. Her blood pressure starts falling off, but shockingly, it stabilises. This could have happened when she recalled how Sang-hyuk saved her from falling off the cliff.

In the meantime, the young boy tells Dong-chil that courage is the best thing about love. On the other hand, Eun-seo’s husband and sister are devastated by the news, but at least they can have closure. Myeong-sik is going through the news. We can also see a scratch mark on his neck, meaning he’s the culprit Baek-ryeon fought with.

When interrogated, Baek-ryeon says the room was too dark to remember anything. Sang-hyuk also decides to cook for her. She’s again angry after he wakes her up before she can see the man she kissed. Meanwhile, the cupids fail to get hold of Dong-gu, who has untied himself. He escapes their trap and goes to class. His stare at Do-ra is intense, and he vows to marry her.

Meanwhile, the homicide experts say that Eun-seo’s body had not stayed for too long in the water. The autopsy report indicates that she had died less than five days before they found her. Back at the hospital, Sang-hyuk says he’ll protect her. Jae-hee spotted a cut on Sang-hyuk’s finger, which disappears, making Jae-hee more curious. He carries the photo only to find the Dong-gu, Dong-pal, and Dong-chil as in the picture.

At the hospital bed, Baek-ryeon sees her past life when a young boy tells her to catch a falling petal, and she’ll find the man of her life. We also learn that the boy is a fairy. Sang-hyuk’s metamorphosis is almost happening. When he’s about to leave, Baek-ryeon recalls his face and tells him he is the man she loves.

The Episode Review

Episode 10 has a series of events happening concurrently, and all the characters are playing their part excellently. In this episode, though  Baek-ryeon could have called for help, she could have lost her life. However, through this incident, we discovered more about the culprit. We hope she will remember the scratches on Myeong-ski’s neck to help the homicide department apprehend the culprit.

We also see her afterlife and memories as we piece together the connection between her present and past life. She saw Sang-hyuk’s face when he tried to shoot her with a cupid arrow. It means he has been the man she has been waiting for all this while. Now that Jae-hee has found the three cupids to be the same as in the photo, will that affect his working relationship with Sang-hyuk?
