I Came By is the latest thriller movie on Netflix, centering on the exploits of Toby, his best friend Jay and Liz. Together, they find themselves entangled with the monstrous Hector Blake, who holds a big secret in his basement.

The big question here though is will there be a sequel to I Came By? Here’s what we know so far:

Will there be a I Came By 2?

At the time of writing, there is no news of a sequel to I Came By. This lack of news is hardly surprising given the movie has only just dropped on Netflix. However, the chances of another film are pretty remote, given the way this ends.

The ending is pretty conclusive, although we have seen sequels greenlit in the past. Hugh Bonneville’s character is a massive part of this universe though and he has a pretty packed scheduled, with the prolific actor at various stages for 4 separate movie projects.

I Came By has been received really positive reviews from critics, with audiences a little more critical, but still erring on the side of liking this one. A follow-up movie would certainly please fans looking for more of the same.

Right now though, nothing has been officially confirmed but we’ll be sure to update this section when we know more!

When could the next I Came By movie be released?

It’s difficult to say at this point as the movie hasn’t been confirmed. However, should Netflix decide to renew this one, it’s fair to say story, production and filming would all need to be commenced and booked in before we even look at a specific time for a sequel. Not only that, but the cast would need to find time in their busy schedules to take on this project too. As detailed above, that may be easier said than done.

With all that in mind, we could well be looking at summer 2023 at the very earliest should this be greenlit a sequel.

Who will be in I Came By 2?

If a direct follow-on is made, it really wouldn’t be the same without Hugh Bonneville reprising his role as the menacing Hector Blake. However, should we be graced with a time jump (as predicted above) then we could see a new cast step forward.

What could I Came By 2 be about?

It’s difficult to say at this point as a sequel has not been greenlit. However, there is definitely potential for this story to continue. The way we end things, it’s a little subjective as to whether Jay is going to take up the mantle of Toby’s crown as the graffiti artist or if that final act in Hector’s lounge was a goodbye present.

However, that house is likely full of Jay’s DNA, not to mention the blood spatters on the floor which could belong to either Hector, Jay or both! A sequel could see Jay on the run with Naz trying to escape from Detective Ella, who wants to bring him in for questioning.

Another possible plot could see time pass and Hector get early release from prison. He then goes on a rampage to try and find Jay, potentially with kidnapping Naz and their child to bring Jay out for a showdown.

This is all just speculation as, until a sequel is officially announced, we cannot say for sure what the next movie’s plotline could be.
