Will there be a sequel to The Big 4? Here’s what we know:

On December 15th, The Big 4 – an exciting Indonesian action-comedy – was launched on Netflix. In it, we see the merging of an epic, kick-ass quintet: Alpha, Jenggo, Pelor, Topan (the Big 4), and Police Officer Dina.

So, will we see our lethal friends again in the future? Let’s find out.

What is the Big 4 about?

Four retired vigilante assassins return to their former lifestyle when the police officer daughter of their deceased leader, Petrus, discovers them. Together, the Big 4 and Petrus’s daughter, Dina, must evade the pursuit of a psychopathic killer named Antonio. In the midst of setting off bombs and shooting heads off, the group develops a bond as the Big 4 gradually accept Dina into their clan.

Will The Big 4 have a sequel?

Nothing is confirmed, but the cliffhanger at the end of the film is saying yes.

*Spoiler Alert*

At the end of The Big 4, we see a woman with a spider emblem eyepatch declare that she has unfinished business with Topan. And she makes it clear she has no problem killing Dina, too. The strong camera shot of her eyepatch and the shot of her stabbing a photo of Topan with a sword are dead giveaways that a sequel is intended.

There is also some buzz about this being the promising start of a franchise. With that in mind, we predict that this will have a sequel.

What could the Big 4 sequel plot elements be?

The mystery lady singled Topan out from the rest of the Big 4. So, it is likely that she has some history with him. There are not any good clues as to who she might be, but we have a couple of theories:

  • She is from a criminal organization that the Big 4 previously helped maim or destroy, and Topan had a very significant part in that, maybe killing someone precious to her.
  • Or she is somehow connected to Topan’s past—maybe a relative. His own mother, perhaps? We know that Topan was primarily raised by Petrus, and she seems a bit older than the other Big 4 members.

In the last scene that we see Dina, she is being kissed by Topan. And after their unforgettable adventures together, Dina will for sure have a significant place in the sequel, giving it a prospective title: “The Big 5.”

Aside from any current plot progression, there is tons of potential for a movie about the Big 4 and Petrus’s backstory.

When could the Big 4 sequel come out?

Of course, this is all speculation, but if there is to be a sequel, it is likely it would come out in late 2024 or 2025.

  1. Please please please I need part 2. I just now finished watching it in search of a second movie considering it came out 2022. I have no idea where I was that year because this movie is amazing all around.

  4. Yes me and my son would like to see a sequel but if there’s a sequel Dina and Topan would have to have a sex scene because it would get huge ratings.

  8. I enjoyed The Big 4 much more than most Hollywood flicks! I hope there is a sequel. A franchise would be amazing and could not only venture into what they do next but also the prequel into their formative years is a great idea.

  13. I will be happy to see a sequel to the big 4. It’s funny, fast paced action with a comedy twist. A great idea that needs building on. Bring it on!
