The Secret Score (La Partitura Secreta) – Episode 4 Recap & Review

Very Strong Finding

Episode 4 of The Secret Score starts at the museum when Maya runs into Rafa on the way out of the attic. He stops her, wanting to know what she is up to, but Tenoch returns with the metronome and uses it to get themselves out of the sticky situation. Maya begs Rafa not to tell the principal that they had taken the metronome, saying they accidentally broke it and had to fix it. After Tenoch and Maya leave, Rafa calls whomever he updates and tells him that he found the pendant and will get it for them. 

Later, Maya is practising the song for the project when she hears a sound from the theatre. The theremin is making a sound, and a light blinks, but no one is playing it. Max startles her when he arrives at the theatre after hearing the sound. They wonder what is happening, and Maya thinks that no logical reason can explain the events they are experiencing. Maya and Max take a walk from the auditorium and connect by talking about their past and families. Maya says that she does not like how her father sees music, while Max talks about how much he likes her father. He is a famous musician, and Max knows his music career and biography at heart. 

Andy approaches Nati as Maya and wants to know what she thinks about their kiss. Nati spills, saying she liked the kiss but erases Andy’s memory. Meanwhile, a student named Pepe becomes Tenoch’s roommate. He seems intense with anger management issues and attached to a Bonsai. Andy turns into Maya again and asks Nati about the kiss, and this time, she lies since she knows it is Andy. She says he is a lousy kisser and has bad breath, but when Andy discovers that she is lying, he wonders what she had previously said, making her erase his memories. 

Rafa approaches Paulina at breakfast and talks about liking their partnership and hoping that she will continue to help him. Connie touches Paulina’s phone during their conversation and overhears what they are talking about, but when she asks Paulina, she lies to her, saying they are talking about food. During class, Maya touches Gael’s folder and sees that he has been researching Leo’s father. The friends seem convinced he has something to do with Leo’s disappearance. 

After classes, Rafa finds Nati in the room as she is heading out to the pool and asks to join her. Nati thinks it is Andy pretending to be Rafa, so she tells him about the kiss and paradise, but she erases the memory soon after. Rafa leaves a ticker note on the door to prevent it from locking, pretends to get them drinks later, and heads back to the dorm. However, the sticker note is on the floor, and the door is locked shut.

Elsewhere, Paulina approaches Maya while waiting for Max and asks about what they do in the museum. Her question seems like a truth serum injection, and Maya opens up about their powers and the music score. When Max arrives, she tells him about what happened with Paulina, and they realise that she has powers, which means that Connie does too. Max texts Nati to erase Paulina’s memory, but she cannot since her powers only work on recent memories. 

Meanwhile, Max finds Connie and strikes up a conversation. She starts asking him about finding Gael. Max wonders how she knew about that and keeps questioning her. Max learns that Gael is heading to town, so he sends a group text telling the group to meet at the secret stairs in 10 minutes. Andy transforms into Connie and discovers that Paulina knows about the music score, the powers, the attic, and everything else, so Nati erases her memory of the whole day. Nati realises she can erase everything within the timeline she names, like a day, month, or even year. 

The friends teleport into town to follow Gael using Max’s digital telepathy while Rafa steals the master key from the cleaner and sneaks into Maya’s room to look for the pendant, which he finds hidden in a floor cabinet. While the friends keep following Gael, Rafa heads to the museum and finds the entrance to the attic. 

The Episode Review

In this episode, we discover Paulina’s powers: she can listen to her and do as she says. In addition, Nati realises that she can erase memories from as far back as she wants as long as she mentions the period. Rafa got one step ahead by finding the pendant and the attic. Will he find the music score? The series continues to deliver exciting and engaging episodes, and the actors’ chemistry and performances are outstanding. We are curious about who Rafa is working for, why they need the music score, and whether Gael is the bad guy.
