Krapopolis – Season 1 Episode 19 “Muse Your Illusion” Recap & Review

Muse Your Illusion

In episode 19 of Krapopolis Season 1, King Tyrannis and co have to deal with a desperate case of muses. The villagers are getting crazy ideas in their heads like creating new art forms, among others. The royal family is wary. Hippo has already come up with calculations to contain the muses. In the meantime, they all wear copper stones to wade off the wandering troublemakers.

In the episode’s backdrop, there is something wrong with Shlub. Deliria is investigating more into what is exactly going on with her husband.

Hippo makes a plan to bait the muses by offering a couple a third date. They take the offer and Hippo seals them in a room. The plan is for Stu to use wind energy and capture all of them in a box. However, a momentary lapse results in Stu taking off his copper band and the muses affecting his thought process. They put the idea of building a big house for them in Stu’s mind, almost failing her plan. But then Ty saves the day.

Deliria finds out that Shlub is going through his periodic metamorphosis…a process that his body undergoes every thousand years. He is losing hair, looks older, and appears short of confidence. Deliria tries to assuage his fears about his appearance but Shlub regrets her learning about it.

Hippo has been torturing the muses in the box to shape them to his will. He wants them to only process ideas that are in a sense pre-approved by the crown…because they lead to its progress. Using the fluids, Stu gets the idea to put into place a physical regime for the armies to keep them ready for battles, while Hippo gets the idea to develop a written language.

Ty initially gets an idea to remove his autocratic rule but with another puff, he gets the inspiration to create branches of government so as to remain in power and let them fight each other. Ty discovers that the muses can talk. He listens to their suggestions but there is a hint of evil in their plans. They manipulate him to let them go and the muses then cause havoc in the city.

Deliria protects Shlub, who has now gone into a cave till his process is over to ensure that no one else pities him. She fights all kinds of monsters who smell his tender condition and come to feast on him. Finally, when he has undergone the process, Shlub metamorphizes into a baby. Deliria’s task is even more difficult now as she struggles to wade off the scariest of monsters.

The siblings come up with a plan to defeat the muses by using Ty’s humiliating thoughts as an antidote. And for the most bizarre reason, it works! However, as Ty goes into deep confession mode by accepting his greatest fear is ending up alone, he becomes proud of his shame.

The trio are out of juice and there is one more muse left. Ty steps up to convince the muse to make her services valued by offering them an exhange for helping prestigious people. She is stunned by the idea’s obvious nature and agrees to end her war. Ty is hailed as the saviour, albeit a needy king with very little self-respect.

The Episode Review

Creativity doesn’t need too much science to thrive, as Hippo says. The new episode of Krapopolis has all the best creative juices flowing in its favour. The concept is unique and engaging, the jokes are well integrated with character traits, and Deliria & Shlub finally get a token of respect. They are a couple to aspire with their shameless love and this episode hits home the point.

The sitcom has gripped us for more than twenty confirmed episodes now. However, it remains to be seen if this level of engagement will continue to service us every week.
