As episode 11 of Family Guy season 22 starts, the Griffin family is seen at the school attending the homecoming game. During the ceremony, the retiring teacher, Mr. Trampledon is trampled to death by students. Later, Chris is awarded the Homecoming Dunce for the fourth time in a row. Lois is disappointed.

Lois has been hired as the substitute teacher at the school in place of Mr. Trampledon. Chris is concerned thinking having his mother as a teacher will make his life worse at the school. In order to hide her identity, Lois uses Pewterschmidt as her second name and plans to wear a blonde wig and use a beauty mark so kids won’t bully Chris because of her.

Chris sits with the ‘cool kids’ who find Lois sexually attractive. They spot Chris going home with Lois and assume he is sleeping with their new teacher. As a result, Chris becomes popular among cool kids.

Enjoying the newly-found attention, Chris plays along and pretends he is actually sleeping with Lois. The boys demand a naked picture of Lois as proof of Chris’ fling with their new teacher. A reluctant Chris takes a nude picture while she takes a shower. The picture is shared and it goes viral in no time.

Principal Sheppard questions her for sleeping with a student. Lois immediately knows it is Chris who did it all. Back at home, she demands Chris tell the truth to his friends. A regretful Chris agrees. However, when Chris tries to tell the truth in his class, Lois interrupts him and makes it seem as though Chris really had sex with her. She spends six years in prison for sex with a minor.

The Episode Review

The storyline lies on the border between fearlessly funny and out-of-the-line funny. One thing is certain, the latest episode brought back the nostalgic Family Guy vibe. Of course, the storyline is a bit too extreme for many viewers, but it’s what Family Guy is known for after all. The episode features a string of wordplays with out-of-the-box humour. Cutaways are funny too. All in all, if you have enjoyed the old seasons of Family Guy, this episode will surely reestablish your interest in the show.
