Take This Job & Love It
As episode 12 of Family Guy season 22 begins, Peter is seen whining about his brewery work at the clam. He tells his gang that he always wanted to be an international spy. He pictures himself as Lap Band, a spy, who is attacked by a group of gunmen from Finland.
We are then taken to London where Agent 555 (Peter) meets with M (Meg), his secretary and Q (Chris), his assistant. Peter joins hands with Alice Boobs (Lois) to foil a bomb transfer. Stewie, as Blofella, is the bad guy, as you might have guessed. Blofella’s plan is to wipe Las Vegas off the map. Agent 555 and Blofella get involved in a game of cat and mouse before Agent 555 eventually corners Blofella, and kills him.
As Peter’s story of his dream job concludes, Quagmire tells about the dream job he once had. He was an aerobics teacher who was in charge of training women. His ‘sexercise’ program was a popular hit. In order to take it national, he was on the Tonight Show with Johnny where he talked about how his style of ‘aerobics’ came about.
Quagmire also planned to create a video. However, right before the shoot, Quagmire found out his leg warmers were missing. He found a note in his locker room from Jane Fonda suggesting it was her who stole his warmers.
Poor Quagmire was ill-confident as he was highly self-conscious about his legs. The video was a nightmare. As a consequence, his business went to the dogs as Jane Fonda’s workout business took off.
Cleveland sees himself as a cop, but only a day short of retirement. He is called by the chief who informs him there is a drug cartel operating in LA, and he is to solve the case. He is assigned Joe as the partner. Despite Joe’s skills and Cleveland’s expertise, the duo fail to solve the case and are immediately pulled off the case.
After the family dinner, Joe spots the smugglers, and he and Cleveland set out to arrest them. During the scuffle, they find out the Police Chief is also a part of the cartel. During the shootout, Cleveland shoots the Chief.
The Episode Review
The latest Family Guy episode is better left unwatched. The previous episode raised our hopes, but this one has brought us back to the bland Family Guy of recent times. This kind of storyline that takes place in the characters’ imagination is always tough to pull off. And it’s often used as a filler when writers run out of the story. All in all, it’s not a thumbs up!
