Episode 5

Episode 5 of Wonderful World starts with Soo-hyun spotting Soo-ho with Hye-geum in the hotel room. She is shattered to see this and leaves the hotel. Soo-hyun thinks about what both Soo-ho and Hye-guem told her over the last few days and gets further agitated. At the same time, Seon-yul is being chased by Kim Joon’s men. He speeds up his bike and goes into hiding.

Seon-yul calls Kim Joon’s secretary and tells her he is being tailed. Meanwhile, Soo-hyun waits the night out and drops Soo-ho a text, stating she knows where he is which causes Soo-ho to panic. He shows up at home and starts looking for Soo-hyun who is not home yet. A while later, Soo-hyun goes back home and spots Soo-ho’s car in their driveway along with Hye-geum’s car in her driveway.

She confronts Hye-geum about the affair and the latter apologises to Soo-hyun. Hye-geum reveals that she connected with Soo-ho after meeting him at Gun-woo’s grave following his death. She apologises to Soo-hyun for hurting her. Soo-hyun refuses to accept her apology and leaves her house. She then goes to her own house and packs a bag of her clothes.

Soo-hyun does not respond to Soo-ho but tells him that she will be staying at her mom’s house for the next few days. She tells Soo-ho how upset she was that her mom had to see photos of him with another woman. Soo-ho gets furious and tries to find the person who had sent the photo to her mother.

Meanwhile, Kim Joon’s secretary follows another politician named Choi Joo-suk who Seon-yul had caught consuming drugs. She tells the politician that he should stop tailing her informant and threatens to expose him. That night, Seon-yul gets home and thinks about his conversation with Soo-hyun. He wonders what he should do with the information he has on Min-hyuk.

On the other hand, Soo-hyun goes to stay with her mother. There, Go-eun asks her to stop trying to look for the person who sent her the photo as it would only cause more trouble. Soo-hyun tears up the photo that was sent to her mother. Soo-ho, still curious about the person who sent the photo meets a small-time detective and his friend – Han Sang. He asks Han Sang to look for the sender of the photo.

Soo-ho is then called in to work where he meets Kim Joon. Soo-ho asks if it was Kim Joon who was blackmailing his wife but the politician denies the accusations. On his way out, Kim Joon asks his secretary to track Soo-ho. Meanwhile, Soo-hyun is trying to live her life in peace. However, when she looks at the torn-up photo in the trashcan and gets overwhelmed. She decides to meet Seon-yul and offers him a meal.

Upon learning that Seon-yul had no living relatives and lived on Ramen packets, she gets emotional. Seeing the wounds on Seon-yul’s arms, Soo-hyun asks Seon-yul to stop taking up risky jobs, concerned about his well-being. Seon-yul claims that the wounds inside him are deeper than the wounds on his body. Soo-hyun is about to leave when Seon-yul tells her that he knows something about the sender of the photos.

Soo-hyun ignores the comment and leaves after handing Seon-yul some first-aid medicine. Soo-jin shows up at the junkyard to meet Seon-yul and is shocked to see Soo-hyun there. She goes inside and hands Seon-yul the information she found. She reveals that Min-hyuk was seen at some gambling parlours which proves to be helpful information for Seon-yul.

In exchange for her help, Soo-jin asks Soo-ho to take her on a bike ride which she thoroughly enjoys. The following day, Soo-hyun decides to tape the photo and notices that the photo sent to her mother mentions an article hyperlink. Soo-hyun follows the link and tries to decode the message the blackmailer was trying to send.

After sending out an email to the writer of the news article, Soo-hyun gets a call from her mother-in-law. Myeong-hee takes Soo-hyun shopping and then to dinner. Myeong-hee calls Soo-hyun out for leaving her house and living with her mother. She states that Soo-hyun had decided to come back into Soo-ho’s life and should follow through with it. Myeong-hee also adds that she’s being mocked due to Soo-hyun’s actions.

Soo-hyun does not respond to Soo-ho’s mother’s comments but gets back home and breaks down. She reads a message from her mother and starts sobbing harder when Yu-ri shows up, concerned for Soo-hyun. After learning all about the affair, Yu-ri shows up to scold Soo-ho for having an affair with the neighbour. Hye-geum watches Yu-ri and Soo-ho argue from her driveway.

The next day, Go-eun asks Soo-hyun if she is going to go back to working as a teacher. Just then, Soo-hyun gets a call from the reporter of the article hyperlinked to the photo. Soo-hyun meets the Reporter Jeong and learns all about the accident covered in the news article. She calls Tae-ho and asks him to check on a patient named “Kim Eun-min” who had gotten into a road accident.

However, Tae-ho is called in due to an emergency and forgets to take the note with him. On the other hand, Seon-yul goes to the gambling parlour to look for Min-hyuk. He spots Min-hyuk getting into a fight with the club owner. However, after there is news about a police raid, there is chaos at the gambling parlour.

Seon-yul follows Min-hyuk who jumps out of the building from an open window. Min-hyuk is injured during the jump but Seon-yul manages to take him to the same hospital that Tae-ho works at. Tae-ho looks up the hospital records for Kim Eun-min and calls Soo-hyun to the hospital. Soo-hyun goes to visit Eun-min and learns that she is the wife of Kwon Ji-woong – the man she had killed.

Soo-hyun is shattered to see Eun-min has gone into a coma after meeting with an accident following her husband’s death. The episode ends with Seon-yul showing up at Eun-min’s hospital room where he sees Soo-hyun.

The Episode Review

This show keeps on taking interesting turns one episode after another and I am not sure if I am ready for any more plot twists! We know that Min-hyuk has sent the photos of Soo-ho’s affair to Soo-hyun and her mother but I wonder why the woman in the picture is hidden. I wonder what connection Yu-ri has to this fiasco and it wouldn’t be a surprise if it turns out that Yu-ri was having an affair with Soo-ho instead of Hye-geum.

From the looks of it, Min-hyuk is adamant about ruining Soo-hyun’s life because she caused the death of his father and also put his mother in a coma. Since Ji-woong is close to Kim Joon, it is suspicious that the politician is not doing anything to help Min-hyuk considering how close he was to Ji-woong. We will hopefully learn more as the episodes progress.
