Where is Tiny now? The Little Rock Detention Facility inmate from ‘Unlocked: A Jail Experiment’

The Netflix documentary series Unlocked: A Jail Experiment takes viewers inside the walls of the Pulaski County Detention Facility in Arkansas where the inmates of Unit H took part in a social experiment spearheaded by Arkansas sheriff Eric Higgins

The inmates, who were used to being on lockdown 23 hours a day, were allowed to roam around freely inside their unit, without the presence of deputies watching over their every move.

When speaking about his reasoning behind the prison experiment, Higgins said:

“We thought, ‘What can we do to create some ownership for those detainees in that unit? How do we make the facility safer, and what can we do to still hold them accountable but empower them at the same time?’ ”  (source)

One of the inmates featured in the experiment is Krisna Piro Clarke “Tiny,” a 35-year-old Arkansas man who was serving time for aggravated battery and first-degree robbery.

Did the experiment help Tiny? Where is he now?

Where is Tiny now?

Tiny was one of the main inmates featured in Unlocked: A Jail Experiment.

During the programme, we learned he earned his moniker when he was young because he was shorter than the people around him. After being taunted about his height, he stabbed one person with the knife he was carrying.

That wasn’t the first time Tiny stabbed somebody. He was arrested several times for his crimes and eventually found himself at Pulaski County Detention Facility’s H-Unit after being charged with aggravated robbery and first-degree battery.

Tiny was glad of the freedom afforded to the inmates by Sheriff Higgins. But there was one thing that made his life inside less tolerable – the absence of his 14-year-old son, whom he greatly missed. While inmates were allowed phone privileges, he wasn’t able to reach out to his son because of a lack of funds for phone calls.

Tiny’s fortune changed when Sheriff Higgins announced phone calls were now free. He was able to call his son and in an emotional moment, we saw the two of them have a loving father-son conversation. Later in the programme, Tiny and his son were reunited when the teenager came to visit.

So, where is Tiny now?

He’s a free man after serving his sentence. He is appreciative of everything the outside world can offer him, including the fresh air and space, and he is thankful for the experiment as it taught him many things and helped him reconnect with his son. As far as we know, he hasn’t committed a crime since.

We wish him all the best for the future!
