The Woman in the Wall Season 1 Episode 5 Preview: Release Date, Time & Where To Watch

The Woman in the Wall Season 1 Episode 5

Ruth Wilson headlines this Paramount project, which is making its international debut. The Woman in the Wall focuses on the story of Lorna Brady, a victim of the Magdalene Laundries in Ireland. These “Mother and Baby Homes” were run illegally in the country, all under the nose of the State. The show is set in the small village town of Kilkinure and focuses on the homicide of Father Percy Sheehan, a person associated with these laundries.

Lorna and a few other women were victims of the Kilkinure convent, with which Percy is closely associated. Things get complicated when Lorna finds the body of Aoife Cassidy in her house, a nun who didn’t complete her final vows at the convent. But she has no idea how Aoife’s body got there, owing to Lorna’s sleepwalking habit.

What happened in Episode 4?

Episode 4 of The Woman in the Wall begins with Massey reporting Akande for being reckless in discharging his duties. This sends him back to Dublin but doesn’t stop Akande’s hunger for answers. First, he visits Percy’s house, which is still a crime scene and finds a register with the name of his baby and mother home, Lazarus House. On investigating further, he discovers that the Sacred Shepherd agency did not close shop in 1979 since he himself was adopted through it.

Akande visits Father Rice, who was the chaplain of Lazarus before it burnt down. When he brings up the agency’s name, Rice turns sour and reports Akande, who is promptly suspended by his superior. But it does confirm that the clergymen have something to hide.

Lorna is on a mission to find Agnes’ grave. She visits the local and county registry offices but doesn’t find any record of a grave. Later that night, she steals the record, just to be sure about the staff’s intentions. She enlists Michael’s help and finds out that only 3 out of 298 babies have a grave. She later discovers that many of these deaths have been falsified by the agency to protect their trafficking ring.

Akande finds out that he was adopted by his parents using illegal means. He was smuggled out of the tunnel, which actually exists beneath Lazarus House. Akande finds that there is a death certificate in his name, Cole Ivers (which was his mother’s surname). This gives Lorna hope that Agnes might also be alive, pinning the expectations for the final two episodes.
