The Dangers In My Heart – Season 2 Episode 13 Recap, Review & Ending Explained

Karte 25: I, We, Fell In Love

Episode 13 of The Dangers In My Heart Season 2 begins with Kyotaro questioning the predicament he’s found himself in. Meanwhile, Moeko tells the girls she’d like everyone to discuss romantic tales. Sekine’s not thrilled by the idea but a girl named Yuka wants to chime in. She asks Yamada if she has a crush on someone. Yamada doesn’t respond so Moeko and the others start getting under their sheets.

What happens when Yamada discusses things further with Yuka and the others?

Yuka asks Yamada what guys she likes and Yamada says she likes interesting, cat-like men. Yamada asks the others if anyone asked them out before. Moeko, Sekine, and other girls say several boys have asked them out. However, someone knows two of them are lying. Moeko says that love should brew between people over time. Yamada disagrees and says she’d want someone to ask her out.

Yamada apologizes for her outburst and says she doesn’t understand what Moeko meant by letting things brew. Moeko wanders over to Yamada and tells her. Kyotaro knows Moeko’s referring to “intercourse” and rambles about why adults engage in the activity. Chihiro turns the lights off.

What happens between Yamada and Kyotaro under the sheets and how do they escape the room?

Yamada heads underneath her blanket to speak with Kyotaro. She asks Kyotaro what they should do and Kyotaro has “intercourse” on his mind. Kyotaro tries his hardest to forgo those nefarious thoughts. Simultaneously, Yamada asks Kyotaro if he thinks she’s grown up. Before things get heavy between the two, Kyotaro tells Yamada that he’d like to chat with her tomorrow.

Yamada springs from her sheet and Chihiro questions her about it. Yamada says it’s nothing. Moeko and the others notice Yamada’s sheets are bigger than normal. Before they discover Kyotaro’s hiding underneath them, Yamada spots Kanzaki spying on them and alerts the girls. The girls leave the room to tell Ms. Moriya about Kanzaki.

Yamada and Kyotaro leave the room. She stops Kyotaro and asks him what he wants to chat with her about. Kyotaro says they can chat tomorrow.

What happens between Yamada, Kyotaro, Kanna, and the others in the morning?

The next day, the students visit a holy environment. Yamada interrupts Kanna and Hanzawa’s photography activity, upsetting Kanna. Kanna points toward the gates behind them. She says if couples leave this area while holding hands, the legend says they’ll be bound together for eternity.

Meanwhile, Kyotaro is puzzled about what he should discuss with Yamada. Yamada passes by him with her fox mask on. She takes another route alone and Kyotaro follows her.

What happens between Kyotaro and Yamada at the gate?

Yamada asks Kyotaro questions about his experience (so far). Kyotaro says he’s doing fine and has been having more fun than he expected. Kyotaro notices something off about Yamada’s responses and starts questioning her about it. He removes Yamada’s fox mask and asks Yamada questions about the audition she was booked for. Yamada apologizes to Kyotaro and he wonders why she’s apologizing to him.

Yamada cries and tells Kyotaro that she can’t do it. She felt that if Kyotaro was having fun, she’d have fun too. Yamada feels she’s being self-centered because all she can think about is the audition. Kyotaro reflects on Yamada’s situation. Kyotaro starts tearing up but tries to hold back his tears. Kyotaro puts on Yamada’s mask. He opens up to her about his life.

Kyotaro says he’d enjoy school even without Yamada around. However, Kyotaro says it’s thanks to Yamada that he got to see how beautiful the world is. Kyotaro removes his mask with tears in his eyes and tells Yamada that he likes her. Kanna notices Yamada and Kyotaro nearby and tells Hanzawa to prepare the celebration. Kyotaro grabs Yamada’s arm and flees the area.

Before Kanna catches up to them, Kanzaki and Hara block her path.

What happens between Kyotaro and Yamada after they flee from Kanna and Hanzawa?

Kyotaro and Yamada stop somewhere and Kyotaro tells her to go to her audition. He promises Yamada that he’ll inform the teachers why Yamada left early. Kyotaro insists that Yamada should take the next bullet train to the audition. He gives Yamada some snacks and Yamada realizes that’s why Kyotaro’s bag was full in the previous chapter. Yamada confronts Kyotaro about what he said and Kyotaro says he likes that she’s still herself.

Yamada tells Kyotaro that she wants to say that she likes him out loud too. Before she does, Chihiro arrives and presents Yamada with a Kimi Iro Octave manga volume for her audition. Kyotaro wishes Yamada the best of luck. Chihiro departs with Kyotaro leaving the area minutes later. Kyotaro wonders what type of excuse he should come up with to get out of trouble.

What happens after Kyotaro and Yamada part ways?

Kyotaro stumbles upon Kanna and the others celebrating Kanzaki and Hara’s official relationship. Kanna’s not thrilled about this and Hara tells everyone to stop the celebratory party. While Kyotaro’s buying trinkets at a shop, Kana (his sister) calls and tells him not to buy her a dumb keychain. Kyotaro’s folks chime in and ask him to collect goodies for them too.

Adachi learns Kyotaro’s buying something for his sister and tries to interfere in their discussion. Kyotaro grabs a toy sword and he and Adachi fight with them to Moriya’s dismay. Moriya yells at her students because they’re causing problems. Kyotaro reflects on what happened to Yamada. Essentially, she made it to her audition and her parents informed the staff about what happened to her.

How does The Dangers In My Heart Season 2 End?

While on the bullet train, Kyotaro receives a text from Yamada. The two plan to regroup at their usual spot when he exits the train. Kyotaro exits the train and runs through town, trying to find the spot Yamada’s talking about. After arriving at school, Kyotaro believes Yamada is at the library. Kyotaro visits the library and Yamada’s waiting inside for him.

Kyotaro asks Yamada about her audition. Yamada’s unsure about the results but she tells Kyotaro that she did her best. She reflects on herself and what matters to her most. Yamada tells Kyotaro that he’s special to her. She tears up and tells Kyotaro that she loves him. Yamada grabs Kyotaro’s hand and asks him if he can go out with her.

Yamada and Kyotaro try to kiss each other but mess up. She decides to kiss him on the cheek and departs. Kyotaro runs outside and grabs Yamada’s hand. The two stare at each other while in front of a glorious sunset. The season ends with Kyotaro and Yamada declaring this is how they fell in love.

The Episode Review

The Dangers In My Heart’s second season has ended, and wow, it didn’t disappoint. While some folks may not find some crude material in this one compelling, others may get a laugh or two at the comedic chatter that unfolds within this chapter.

While Yamada and Kyotaro were the most stand-out figures in this episode, it’d be foolish to overlook Kanzaki’s role in this chapter. Thanks to his humorous interferences, Yamada and Kyotaro escaped the embarrassing clutches of Kanna and crew twice.

Kanzaki aside, fans will love how Shin-Ei Animation Studios handled Kyotaro and Yamada’s confession scenes. Whether a viewer was a fan of the source material or not, one cannot deny the sheer passion, love, and care that went into making these scenes pop on screen. Also, the OST inserted during those scenes made them feel more authentic, charming, and memorable.

Whether for its tense drama, appealing comedy, or lovable cast, fans will walk away from this episode with their hearts warmed and their expectations met.
