What is The Imperfects about?

The Imperfects centers on three twenty-somethings who end up taking part in an experimental gene therapy. When they’re turned into monsters as a result of that, the trio band together to hunt down the scientist responsible and force him to make them human again.

While this is going on, Alex Sarkov, a former child prodigy, is dead-set on achieving his goal of rewriting the human genome come to fruition, and ushering in the next stage of human evolution.

Has The Imperfects been renewed for season 2?

At the time of writing, The Imperfects has officially been cancelled. Given the nature of the show’s content, that’s pretty surprising.

Generally Netflix gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton & Irregulars) Other times, it can take months before Netflix make a decision over a show’s future.

So far, The Imperfects has had a pretty mixed reception with critics but audiences have been far more positive, with the show hitting the top 10 list in several different countries.

It would seem that the show had a pretty big drop-off rate or there just wasn’t the buzz Netflix were expecting from this one. Either way, this is the end of the road for The Imperfects.

What we know about season 2 so far:

Barely anything is known about season 2 at this point, given Netflix have only just cancelled the show. There’s certainly scope for another season but given how quickly the cancellation news has come after airing, this one must not have been doing too well for the streamers.

Having said that though, another network could potentially pick this up and run with it, but right now that does seem unlikely.

  1. Please this movies has too be released infact it’s going to bring a good hit for Netflix and the owner of the show it’s a movies you stick with for a whole day with out even knowing lol that’s sound funny but it’s true

This show needs to be renewed for another season and I don’t understand why Netflix is canceling shows that don’t initially do well at first but gain a cult following within that first year and still refuse to renew the show. I hope Netflix smartens up and renews this show and others that are still on cliffhangers, teasing the audience and leaving the world wondering why?

  3. I LOVE the show I have rewatched it 4 times! We all need to know what happens! The characters are awesome, the plot is intriguing and everything about it is just what I’m looking for every time I go to look for a show to watch. WE NEED SEASON 2!!!

  5. I literally started this show yesterday and just finished it. I need a second season I need to know what happens to them. Season 2 needs to come. Another platform needs to take the show or Netflix needs to renew it cuz I absolutely loved it.

  20. Watched all 10 episodes back to back. Loved it. One of the best Netflix shows in a long time. I’d be seriously disappointed if there was no season 2

  25. Yes it can’t end like that we need another season to see what happens there powers been dormant for three months than start appearing has to be a season two.
