What is Take 1 about?
Take 1 is a music documentary series from Korea that invites six musical icons from Korea to prepare a stage with only one song in one take. The musicians have to reflect on one question: “If you could perform just one stage before you die, what would it be?” It is not an easy question and the pressure is amplified by the fact that they can only choose one song from their expansive career. They also have a few days to prepare for the show before they perform it once in front of their fans.
In each episode, a musician takes to the stage and gives a heartfelt and invigorating performance, hoping for no regrets once the director yells “cut!” You can check out our full season review HERE.
Has Take 1 been renewed for season 2?
Netflix is yet to announce whether it will be renewing the show for a second season. This is a new variety show style so it might take a while for the show to find its audience. So far though, it has been received favorably by fans and critics alike.
Normally, Netflix decides whether a show will be getting another season based on the number of views and the demand from its own viewers. Cost of production is also a factor to consider and based on the performances in the first season, you can tell they went all out.
All these factors considered, it is highly likely that the show will be renewed for season 2.
What we know about season 2 so far:
As there has been no news yet, we still don’t know the fate of the show. It would be interesting if the series is renewed for season 2 as its potential is endless. Netflix can decide if they will keep the show only based on Korean singers. It would be entertaining to see some of the biggest acts in Korea such as BTS, Blackpink and many more take the stage.
They can also expand the show to cover music legends from other countries such as Shakira, Davido and many more. Think about it, if Drake had to choose only one song from his career to perform, what would it be?
