One of the famous teenage mystery novel series written by Karen M. McManus, titled One of Us is Lying, took over the minds of fans all over BookTok. Soon after its rise, the novel was turned into a popular series with the same name and released in 2021. The Peacock original show was then released on Netflix Internationally.

The show recently released Season 2, picking up from where it ended. After finishing both seasons of the show, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know:

What is One of Us is Lying about?

The show One of Us is Lying is a teenage crime drama, starring Annalisa Cochrane, Chibuikem Uche, Marianly Tejada, Barrett Carnahan and Cooper van Grootel among others as main leads. After four high school students from “Bayview High School” were charged with the murder of their classmate, Simon, the group gets text messages from someone named called “Simon” asking them to do as he says and threatening to expose their secrets to the world.

The Bayview Four end up battling between proving their innocence by finding out how Simon really died and following Simon’s orders in order to stop their secrets from being exposed. After figuring out what happened to Simon and learning who was responsible for his death, the four friends are joined by another student, Janae.

Together the five think that their blackmailer – “Simon Says” is gone for good but it all changes when they get another anonymous text threatening to pin the blame on one of them for the death of another student.

Has One Of Us Is Lying been renewed for season 3?

Fans of One of Us is Lying recently watched the second season on Netflix and Peacock as they are coming up with their own theories about the show. After watching how Season 2 ended, we can be sure that despite having no official confirmation from the makers, One of Us is Lying is surely coming back for a Season 3.

Officially, the show has not been renewed for a third season yet. However, the season finale of One of Us is Lying Season 2 gives fans something to anticipate from Season 3 when it is eventually renewed.

So far there has not been an official statement about the show from Netflix or any news from Peacock or the producers but if the makers are to follow the pattern of the last season, fans should hear an official announcement by March of 2023 with the third season that could premiere in the second half of 2023.

What we know about One of Us is Lying Season 3 so far:

Barely anything is known about Season 3 at this point other than the mid-credits scene from Episode 8 of Season 2. From how Season 2 ended, the Murder Club members are now in their final high school year ready to graduate. With a crime scene set up on graduation day, the police are looking at a pool of blood and pick up Bronwyn’s ‘Stay’ necklace hinting that she is possibly in danger or in contrast, a suspect.

Moreover, after what happened to Fiona in her jail cell, there is a possibility that Jake Riordan’s secret could be unveiled in the new season. We could expect to see how Cooper’s father – Kevin reacts to the confession letter Cooper wrote to him before he thought he was going to surrender to the cops.

Of course, Netflix will soon release more updates about the show but we’ll be sure to update this page in the future when more information is known though!

  1. Yes!!! We NEED a Season 3. One of us is lying became my comfort show the day I watched it. I have signed petitions and I will write emails to every cast member if I have to. But please give us a Season 3. If you’re a fan, please sign petitions and write emails. They say they don’t have enough viewers, we say we count as more than one viewer, so we’ll write back to their ‘cancellation message’ because we want a renewal. #OOUILS3RENEWAL

I agree with the rest of these comments these networks can’t leave us in the dark we need a season 3 season 2 left off like there was going to be twisted spin and we want to know why who what & where dedicated fans should get that I personally loved Netflix series more but peacock created it and they should finish it or These networks will be losing my money may not be a lot but if they keep on starting series and not finish them they will lose

  4. Thought I would watch this because I saw it advertised and said okay it sounds interesting but I was so hooked I couldn’t stop. They did an amazing job with these characters and their growing and changing and the real meaning of love and friendship. I was amazed at how much I really liked both seasons. Don’t disappoint all the fans and finish with a season 3… it’s a MUST SEE!!!

  12. I’m 62 and would never have thought I would get so addicted to a series about a bunch of highschool kids. At first I really thought this show would be pretty corny. Then again, what murder/mystery crime/drama fan can pass up checking out a description of this show? Right!?
    I watched the first episode of season one and I was hooked like the day I smoked my first cigarette when I was 16! I haven’t put either one of them down since.
    I can’t wait for season 3 to come out and find out what the writer’s have in store for us next.
    This show is nothing like “I Know What You Did Last Summer, which absolutely WAS corny. They talented actors/actresses are simply phenomenal and the story kept me up late at night on the edge of my sofa for two nights straight as I watched both seasons straight through.

This is by far one of the best shows i’ve seen so far, it got me hooked so fast, and im so looking forward for a season 3, this show needs more recognition, it is plotted out so well and i think all fans deserve the 3rd season. Im hopeful that this year 2023 season 3 will come out and hopefully i will spend my summer watching season 3.

  15. We need a season 3 because the end of season 2 ended on a cliffhanger so we need to know if Bronwyn is dead or not and I need to know if Maeve and Janae
    are gonna get back together because i love them I absolutely live laugh love Maeve and Janae.
