Has The Lazarus Project been renewed for Season 3? Here’s what we know:

Renewed Or Cancelled?

The Lazarus Project is the latest Sky Original, blending numerous different time loop influences into one heady, action-packed series. With decent acting and a gripping story throughout, you may be wondering if this one has been renewed or cancelled. Well, wonder no more!

What is The Lazarus Project Season 2 about?

The story picks up back in George’s apartment. Shiv is shot right at the start of the new loop, Sarah remembers everything, and The Lazarus Project are in crisis. They need to try and find a way to save time before it completely degrades and wipes everything out in the process.

If you’ll remember, Janet was flung back to 2012 at the end of season 1, and she plays a big part in how the story pans out this time around. Her journey sees her working with Dr Gray, a woman who seems to have found a way to create a “natural” time machine that could undo all the work that the Lazarus Project have been doing.

However, with the time loop spiralling out of control, the new plan comes from rounding up six scientists involved in creating this time machine with Dr Gray, recruiting them to create a new machine for the Lazarus Project in the present, and then use that to go back, save Janet and stop the original from being created. Phew. As one may expect, things get very complicated, very quickly.

Has The Lazarus Project been renewed for season 3?

At the time of writing, Sky has not renewed The Lazarus Project for season 3. Given the ratings over the weeks, it’ll be interesting to see if they actually do renew this for a follow-up, especially after that ending!

Sky tend to use a variety of different metrics to gauge whether a show is renewed, including completion rate and minutes watched.

The first season was a big hit with viewers, and it’s likely that the second will follow suit too. Given the way this one ends, we predict that The Lazarus Project will be renewed for a third season.

We’ll be sure to update this section with more details as they become available though.

What we know about season 3 so far:

Barely anything is known about season 3 at this point, given Sky have not green-lit a sequel.

We’re still deep in the heart of time loop territory though. We do know that Sarah is now somehow head of The Lazarus Project, but there’s no word on exactly who has survived the jump. Similarly, we don’t know the full extent of the damage done to this timeline either.

For now, we’ll have to wait and see what will happen and if this one is renewed.

  1. Season 2 was so good I didn’t know it was going to be that good got the fans wanting more. And on my personal opinion there is to many loop holes unfinished. So please don’t leave us hanging on this one it’s got to be a season 3

  2. I hope there are a few more seasons of the Lazarus Project. What a great show, cast and story . I would rather watch the Lazarus Project than Dr Who. Once more Dr Who fans start watching it , the show will go viral

There’s aloud of possibilities to run another season 3.after season 1 u vouldnt wait for season 2.which I hated by yhe way.too no there is possible different out comes of what is possible in the next season is genuinely intriguing. The producers have done a great job on the 2 seasons. May be a bit selfish but come any thing is possible with sci-fi and I just really want too see what the producers could father around that ending.one thing I’m pretty sure it will be intriguing for all watching.

  7. I hoped to God there will be a season 3! I binged both seasons in 4 days and loved every minute. I’m dying to know who survived and who didn’t but feel there are too many unanswered questions without season 3. It’s cruel to leave the public in limbo!!!

  8. This is cinematic genius. One of the best tv shows I have ever watched. I am incredibly interested to see where the story goes from here. 10/10 for both seasons. Hopefully the wait is not too long. There are not many truly great tv shows anymore. I binged both seasons in 2 – 3 days. Excellent. Top marks for the producers and writers. I would recommend. And I will watch again.
