What is Keep Breathing about?

Keep Breathing follows the journey of Liv as she bags herself a flight that unfortunately crashes in the middle of the Canadian wilderness. Alone and with scarce resources, Liv is forced to battle the elements and the odds to survive. But with the ghosts of her past coming back to haunt her, will Liv manage to make it out of this one alive?

Has Keep Breathing been renewed for season 2?

At the time of writing, Keep Breathing has not been renewed for a second season. Given the ending though, that could well change. The final shot of Liv waking up in the wild could see her more purposeful than before, determined to get back to Danny.

Generally Netflix gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton & Irregulars) Other times, it can take months before Netflix make a decision over a show’s future.

So far, Keep Breathing has had a pretty mixed reception from both critics and audiences alike, with some criticizing the show for dragging out its story across too many episodes and there being way too many flashbacks.

Despite the ending, Liv’s personal journey is pretty conclusive so we’re going out on a limb and predicting that Keep Breathing will not be renewed for a second season. Just to add extra weight to this, the team over at The Express newspaper have confirmed there are no plans for season 2

What we know about season 2 so far:

Barely anything is known about season 2 at this point, given Netflix have not green-lit a sequel. The conclusion does open things up for a follow-up though, especially if the cast decide to return and expand this story but that seems very unlikely.

If this one is renewed, expect the story to continue on, with Liv working to get back to Danny and potentially finding a way out of the wild and back to civilization.

  1. As you see that there are absolutely no negative comments regarding continuing this! We are all basically DEMANDING more. I agree that it’s not fair to take us this far and leave it the way you did. There is so much material to develop several seasons here. Please bring back the same actors/actresses as well! It was written in such a way that helped viewers really connect and understand these people at a much deeper level than a lot of other shows. Something not mentioned in suggestions is to develop Danny’s character history a little bit better. That why we understand a little bit more about how he came to be the wonderful young man that he appears to be. If I were going to make any negative comment at all it would be to please have her decrease the number of times she uses the f*** word! I felt like it was used excessively! Also I’m praying that you end the series with an overall positive and hopeful future for this young lady!

  2. YESSSS!! PLEASE.
    This can definitely be continued at least one more season or “part two” explaining a little more of what happens how her life turns out.
    Just by watching the flashbacks we get a big glimpse into loop her life so we can easily turn into a series about her life. How she deals with things if she lives. If she has the baby who is baby it ends up being it could end up turning into a twist of some sort. There’s definitely a lot of places it can go. I would for sure recommend this series and be way more interested if there is more to it.

  7. I think the people that left bad ratings are the type that need things spelled out for them. I feel that they are missing the moral of the movie, they think it was about a plane crash and survival but it was way much more. Yes would like to see a second season

  11. Her flashbacks were so important for the series! Can you imagine being in this situation? All you have is your life to think about. To reflect on! Anyone who felt the flash backs were too much must have either had an easy life or can’t put themselves in her shoes. Amazing series and I hope for more!

  13. I would love to see a season two of keep breathing. I enjoyed watching it and thought it was and all around wonderful series. There are many options for a party and I would like to see what happens to Liv and hopefully she and Danny can reunite there’s just a lot more to tell and many questions unanswered

  14. Hi, Episode 5 was sketchy for me – so many flashbacks. The two falls where too unrealistic to survive. The ending with the extraordinary river ride and the thought of Liv drowning was sad and would have been a crappy ending BUT she did not!!! Yes, let’s see a second season!!!

  16. Definite YES!!! We need a second season. Awesome series. So much left to tell. Where does all this take her, does she have a change of heart about working all the time. Do the drug people come after her? Is he Mom still alive? I’ll be waiting for it.

  17. Yes, yes to Season 2. This was a story we all need to know if she made it back to see her mom and back to Danny. The intense of every episode that wanting more and more. And of course it ENDED to leave us all with unanswered questions. The story has left us all in AWWW, what happened next. Did Liv make it out alive, and the men who saved her gets her the help. Or they run into the men who are looking for the money and drugs… This is a story that needs season 1 thru 10, at least season 2 and I’ll keep watching…

  18. Yes please make a season 2. As much as I loved the series, the only concerning thing is that all that time in the wilderness, she only saw 1 wild animal, the bear. Tjeres no way that bear wouldve walkwd away leaving food (the man) on the table and knowing that she was still in the water. He would’ve stalked her until she came to shore and expired her or at least ry
    I hate to be such a realist, but know those wild animals would’ve have eaten her alive out there. They could’ve at least shown her trying to fight off a bear or wolf or something just like in the movie Edge with Anthony Hopkins. I would’ve loved to see her battle a wild animal during her survival journey and still make it out alive.

  21. This show brings so many emotions to the surface. In each twist and turn the show takes us on such a relatable journey. It tugs at the heart strings, it heals past memories, and it literally keeps you both cozy on the couch yet at the end of the seat. I feel really connected with the main character and the incredible adventurous Journey her and the show take us on . Ready for the seasons to come

    to release a season 2. If more fans reach out for season 2 with at least an ending, there could be room enough for a reason for season 3, 4 & 5 to keep the story going. They do it on the soaps.

I really want to know what happens after that ending after all the injuries she has I want to know if she lost the baby or if the baby is ok and does she finally get back home and tell Danny does she get to see her mom what happens people want to know

  45. I loved this show!
    I believe that the writers did a fantastic job with her flashbacks of her past…it’s what kept her alive. How boring would it of been for her to just reach civilization without difficulty. I would love Nothing more than for her to get back, tell Danny of the pregnancy and for them to make it work, with a twist of the drug runners coming looking for their money & drugs…. Did Sam and his partner steal from them, are they mules, what’s that story?
    There is still so much story to tell, and so many directions it could go….
    Hopefully, eventually giving Liv, Danny & their baby peace with a happy life ending.
    Thank you for the entertainment, this show was wonderful to watch. I found it by mistake, However I will share it so many so please continue to please by moving forward with Season # 2, thank ya kindly!!!

  47. I was intrigued with this from the beginning! I was with Liv when she reminisced while looking for a way back to civilization. Her reconnecting with her father was beautiful.
    I am recommending this to my family and friends to watch! I need a Season 2!!

  49. My husband and I watched this series and loved it. It is for a fight to survival and should be renewed. We need to see her fight to live and face her issues to come to a final peace. Please bring us a season 2.

  50. Would love a second season. She has to fo back to all the places.and find her stuff. And than that is the stashing waiting to be uncovered. Since she is a lawyer and all there is a good story there. And to burry Sam. Please DO. Can’t wait for the sequels.

  54. My husband and I loved the show and loved the flashbacks and the way they were all interwoven to tell her life story. We did not find that there were too many at all. Her courage, determination and her ability to use her head to problem solve ~ pulling from so many of her different life experiences was brilliant. I am so, so glad she lived ~ after everything she went thru it would have been an awful ending for her to have died. It does leave an opening for more of the show ~ I would like very much for there to have been at least one more episode showing her reuniting with Danny and having the baby. A Season Two would be great although I am not sure where the story would go but that is why the writers with all the imagination have jobs LOL ☺️☺️

  62. I really enjoyed it. It does a great job portraying ones life and how all the crossroads you face in life turns you into the person you are today. Even though i don’t believe it was the intent of director/producer, but interesting enough, it made the well-known correlation of how time in the wilderness gives an individual the opportunity reflect and find oneself which ironically can be said about this series.

    If they do decide to come out with follow up seasons, they did title it appropriately to go different ways as “keep breathing” can be associated with just normal day-to-day stresses work, relationships, Parenthood, etc.

    So Id expect season 1 to be the wilderness survival (which is why I originally watched it but found the plot to still be interesting) while the other seasons being more everyday stresses with season. 1 giving the character a backstory.

    All and all great series! I hope it not be the last one either.

  65. It definitely needs to have a 2nd season and I think it was extremely well thought out! I loved it and watched the whole 1st season in less than a day and I never do that! Bravo and have the cast come back. Beautiful performances!

  69. It was disappointing that it ended the way it did. Kind of leaves the viewer to be hanging out on a limb. I did like it, but they dragged out her story. I trust they will have a season 2 and at least to know her story once she gets back home to her husband and child..

  72. It could be the drug traffic people trying to find their drugs and money who pulled her out of the water. Sam told her they could find them. Maybe a tracker was in the bags or plane.
