Family Secrets is a Polish comedy-drama on Netflix about a wedding that goes south after family members decide to wash their dirty laundry during the ceremony.

What is Family Secrets about?

Kaśka and Janeczek are a couple about to tie the knot and begin their blissful married life but secrets and lies between themselves and their family members turn the wedding into a confession ceremony.

The characters in this show are as twisted as they are diabolical and the culmination of the so-called “love” between this couple pushes everyone over the brink. If you love a good messy show laced with drama and love triangles then this is the show for you.

Has Family Secrets been renewed for season 2?

At the moment Netflix is yet to announce the fate of the show but viewers are hoping for a season 2. It has been a few weeks since the show was released and we are hoping a season 2 will be slated sooner rather than later. 

Generally Netflix gauges numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton & Irregulars). Other times, it can take months before Netflix makes a decision over a show’s future.

So far, Family Secret has had a pretty mixed reception with critics and audiences alike. However, we’ll be sure to update this section with accurate details over the coming weeks and months when we know more!

What we know about season 2 so far:

The open ending of the show leaves viewers with a lot of questions and a chance to choose their own ending but we can’t help but wonder what fate the writers of the show gave to Pawel and Janeczek.

There is also a probability that the show can continue with a new family because let’s be real all families have secrets. The possibility for this series is endless and we are hoping Netflix will explore it further.

If the show is selected for renewal, it might take until late 2023 or early 2024 to hit our small screens. In the meantime, we will be on the lookout for any new updates and will keep you informed.

  5. I am so disappointed to say the least at how “Season One” ended!!! I spent all those hours expecting a happy ending and they left viewers in the dark!! Are European films all like that? It seems like Netflix has series of different nationalities that leave viewers up in the air. I prefer closure. It was too exhausting watching all the affairs for me. I would have watched something different if I would have known in advance how they ended the plot! It was entertaining but just plain unfair for the 2 lovers not to be successfully reunited. I don’t know if I could sit through another season of infidelities and a plot that doesn’t “close the deal” for viewer satisfaction.

  6. Brilliant acting, smart humor, action packed & great characters! I even loved reading the cc and listening to the Polish language as I am of Polish decent!!! (Only Polish phrase my mother ever taught me was jen dobre!)
    I vote for season 2 and bring back the same scrip writers please!

  9. yes. wasn’t sure at first. But I’m hopping three will be a season 2. Fell in love with all of the characters and the story. So many will be disappointed if there is no season 2.😒

  25. I started Family Secrets and stopped watching in the middle of episode 2. I came back to it tonight and overall it pissed me off to the point I had to watch the ending. I liked Jan’s character because he evolved to a grown up in some ways. I think he loved Kaska. Most of the characters were annoying. The priest , the nun, grandma were good. Jan’s mother was evil and interesting to watch. So many unanswered questions for several stories. Season 2 is needed.

  41. Yes, pls…. Although very dysfunctional families, yet captivating series. We can’t help but hope for a happy ending atleast a reunion of Kasca n Pawel. What I was hoping for, they reunite n of course she goes into labor n the entire crazy family meet up at hospital…. 🥰🥰
