Based on a popular webtoon, Business Proposal is a K-drama and romantic comedy about a young woman who inadvertently gets involved with the CEO of the company where she works.

This romcom has been incredibly popular, blowing up on social media and with big viewership numbers too.

Generally each episode is uploaded quickly after broadcast on Mondays and Tuesdays, with the hard-working subtitle team translating quickly.

This 12 episode drama has been quite the turbulent ride over the weeks and you may be wondering if this one’s been renewed or cancelled.

What is Business Proposal about?

Shin Ha-ri (Kim Se-jeong) struggles financially, so she readily accepts when her wealthy best friend Jin Young-seo (Seol In-ah) offers to pay her for a favor. Ha-ri goes on a blind date in Young-seo’s stead to try and scare off her suitor.

But as fate would it, he turns out to be Ha-ri’s boss, Kang Tae-moo (Ahn Hyo-seop). When Tae-moo wants to keep dating the fake Young-seo, Ha-ri has to come up with a way to keep up the facade and keep her job.

Has Business Proposal been renewed for season 2?

At the time of writing, SBS has not renewed Business Proposal for season 2. This isn’t uncommon however, given most K-dramas do tend to wrap up their seasons across their allotted run-time.

The ratings began with a pretty decent 4.9% nationwide and has been steadily increasing, with impressive highs of over 10% over the weeks. Given this is a weekday drama, that’s really good.

Based on this though, coupled with the fact most k-dramas wrap up their stories in a single season so we predict that Business Proposal will not be renewed.

We’ll be sure to update this section with more details as they become available.

What we know about season 2 so far:

Most Korean dramas are reserved to one season and with the rare exception of ongoing Netflix shows (Love ft. Marriage and Divorce, Hospital Playlist etc.) then it seems unlikely that this one will be renewed.

However, there is a possibility that SBS do renew this, depending on how the ending is received from audiences so we’ll have to wait and see.

  2. Yes season 2. There are too many unanswered plots in season 1. Even though it is reported all plots were answered it left everyone wanting more. Business Proposal ranks with What Wrong with Secretary Kim.

  3. Everyone definitely needs the Season 2 for Business Proposal. I have been watching dramas from Netflix all the time but this show made me watch 4, 5 times since I’ve seen it.
    This drama includes all emotions and I love every character, mostly Kang Taemo and Shin Hari & the other couple. we would love to see how each relationships end and we would love to see Chairman Kang’s reaction having 2 grand daughter-in-laws at the same time.   8. This such a great show, when it got over it felt heavy to my heart but was great I’m obsessed and looking for another k-drama . The fact that alot of people including me who are watching this show are very picky in what we watch, so there should definitely be more episodes or a season 2.

  13. Please renew for a second season! 🙏. Huge fan of romcom’s and this by far has been so good. It is the only one out there right now of it’s kind. There is definitely a following of this show that will continue to grow this series!

  15. It’s casual, it’s serious, the characters are fully evolving and engrossing. Writing, editing, acting up storyline to everything is top notch. Ratings are a dream. How could any network not be fully on board for at least another season??? The West, given enough exposure to K-anything to will see how well-done it all is.

  40. I really would love to see a season2. There is so much more to tell. I would love to see Young-seo, Ha-ri and Chairman Kang get closer. It was so cute seeing the two of them in the hospital! I would love to see Jin Young-seo and Mr. Secretaries back stories. Maybe see Jin build a successful business and that maybe her father comes back around and her mother? Especially, the love interests, but also the friendships. If you didn’t know better, you’d think that they’ve been friends for years.
