AppleTV+’s The Last Thing He Told Me is based on Laura Dave’s novel of the same name. The show makes several changes to the narrative and has a different focus at its core. Jennifer Garner and Angourie Rice star in central roles, while Nicolas Coaster-Waldou appears in a flailing cameo. Despite the series’ early potential and signs of it taking off in the middle, The Last Thing He Told Me finished with an unsatisfying conclusion.

What is The Last Thing He Told Me Season 1 about?
Hannah Hall tries her best to woo his stepdaughter Bailey as she starts a new life with Owen in Sausalito. Their idyllic life is soon uprooted when Owen suddenly disappears in the wake of a financial scam unfolding at the tech firm he founded, The Shop. Although there is evidence that he might have had prior knowledge of the firm’s impropriety, there is a much larger issue unfolding that puts Hannah and Bailey’s lives in danger.
They struggle to be united and Hannah suggests they go to Austin, Owen’s former home, to find out more answers about him. Bailey and Hannah discover that Owen isn’t who he says he is and are chased by the family of a former mob boss looking for Owen.
Has The Last Thing He Told Me been renewed for season 2?
Yes, AppleTV+ has renewed The Last Thing He Told Me for a second season, despite its originating as a limited series.
Generally AppleTV+, like other streamers, gauges numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate.
The Last Thing He Told Me had a very favourable reaction from audiences and critics alike. Apple TV also released a press communication claiming that The Last Thing He Told Me was among its top three most-streamed shows in the month of May 2023.

What we know about season 2 so far:
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jennifer Garner, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Angourie Rice, and David Morse will all return for the second season, which will be based on an upcoming sequel to Laura Dave’s novel.
Not much else is known about season 2 at the time of writing, given AppleTV+ has only recently announced the renewal.

Yes please we would like to follow up in Bailey’s relationship with family, where has Owen been hiding and many many things.
I think we need a 2nd season to see if Owen can ever come home and get some closure for that relationship hopefully happy closure.
I definately want to see a second season of this show. I feel like Hannah and bailey’s story had a happy ending in that they became close but I feel that Hannah and Owen’s story is far from over. The finale left that open to make us wonder what will come of them and I want them to tell us! I also would like to know if Bailey forms a relationship with her estranged family and grandfather and if there can ever be a happily ever after including Owen with his family again because I feel like both him and Hannah deserve that after what they have been through.
