The Influencer is the latest soapy Colombian series on Netflix, full of long episodes, big drama and plenty of scandalous romance to sink your teeth into.

So, after watching season 1 in its entirety, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know:

What is The Influencer season 1 about?

The Influencer centers on an aspiring influencer called Martiza. After a social media stunt goes horribly wrong, she’s forced to rebuild her reputation. Only, the online world is cutthroat and that’s easier said than done. 

Maritza soon finds herself embroiled in plenty of drama alongside the suave Salvador, his girlfriend Avril and her own twin brothers There’s plenty of twists and turns along the way, with everything from smear campaigns, aggressive takeovers and shocking revelations keeping things intense and unpredictable throughout.

Has The Influencer been renewed for season 2?

At the time of writing, The Influencer has not been renewed for season 2.

Generally Netflix would gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate.

With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly. Other times, it can take months before a decision over a show’s future is made.

So far, The Influencer has had a pretty mixed reaction from critics and audiences alike, with some enjoying the soapy drama but lots commenting on how dragged out this story is and the poor character development.

Given the way this show is set up, we’re predicting that this will not be renewed for a second season. The series does have plenty of potential but it all rests on that drop-off rate. And with a total of 16 episodes to chew through, many may find themselves turning it off before reaching the end.

What we know about season 2 so far:

Barely anything is known about season 2 at this point as Netflix haven’t officially renewed this one. Should it be renewed, we’d imagine that the story will pick up with Maritza, Salvador and all our other characters returning once more.

  2. Of course, please renew with season 2 because we didn’t have no ending. Please come with a happy ending in season 2 between Maritza and Salvador. Every day I check Netflix for Season 2 of The Influencer. I like to watch shows on Netflix but they all need to have a proper ending.

  30. I absolutely loved The Influencer. The acting is brilliant. There is a bit of everything and most importantly humour. I have shed tears and had a great laugh. I have just finished watching episode 30. Netflix please bring it back.
