Renewed or Cancelled?
Still Up is a sweet rom-com from Apple TV+. The show marks yet another instalment in the streaming platform’s growing list of offerings in the genre. It is the second prominent feature this year after Platonic. Antonia Thomas and Craig Roberts play the protagonists in this one.
If you’ve finished watching this one, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know so far:
What is Still Up Season 1 about?
Danny and Lisa are best friends, who have forged an immense bond due to their shared insomnia. The title of the show refers to a question they frequently ask each other as the clock for normal people points toward the bed. There is some form of continuity in the storylines but each episode is largely based on different plotlines. The common strand between all the episodes is Lisa’s growing realisation that her current long-term relationship with Veggie might not be the stuff of dreams for her.
She seriously questions their compatibility as Danny fights his own demons of social anxiety and agoraphobia. Has Still Up been renewed for Season 2?
At the time of writing, Apple TV Plus has unfortunately cancelled Still Up after its first season.
Generally, Apple TV Plus, like other cable networks and streamers, gauges numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate.
Apple likely made the decision to cancel because Season 1 of Still Up did not manage to excite fans. The show has struggled to rack up decent numbers, not making it to the top 10 list on Apple TV even once during its run. The critics have been more receptive to the first season, praising the titular performances and the humour of the writing.
What do we know about Season 2 so far:
As we stated before, Still Up has been cancelled, so we won’t get to pick up in the aftermath of Danny’s conquering of his fears.
Lisa and his love story was suppressed and unrealized for most parts. It only came up in small spurts but at no point did it seem they would end up together. It almost happened and a second season could have focused on how they started a relationship.

We loved the show and are very disappointed with Apple TV plus for canceling season 2, makes me think I may cancel Apple TV.

This is a great show, I would eagerly wait for each episode. Please, Please bring it back! Or at the very least, a movie to give us closure (hopefully with those two getting together).
A great series. Such a wonderful cast. This series must continue. It’s brilliant. We want to see Lisa and Danny as a couple. Let’s get series two underway 😀🇬🇧😀

I adore this show with all my heart. I do hope you’re wrong and we get a season two. So much more to unpack and stories to tell.
Great character building. We know more about feelings than we know about the daily life of the main characters. I slowly became addicted, and by the end of episode 8, I was frustrated there was no episode 9. I hope there is a season 2!
Still up has been a favorite new show for me and I hope it will be continued. I’ve started telling friends about this funny, sweet show with lovely characters and situations.
