Renewed Or Cancelled?
Stargirl was one of the bigger surprises when it dropped back on HBO back in 2020, catching many people by surprise. Then the CW Network picked this up and managed to keep a good chunk of the audience invested, mixing action, drama and thrills. After finishing the whole season, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know:
What is Stargirl Season 3 about?
Stargirl is the surprise hit on The CW, the one show that appeared to be doing rather well while everything else crumbles and falls. Stargirl follows high school student Courtney Whitmore and her stepfather Pat Dugan, who together lead an unlikely group of young heroes to take on the legacy of DC’s very first superhero team, the Justice Society of America.
Season 3 sees Starman shockingly back from the dead and training Courtney while she helps him adjust to life in Blue Valley. However, there’s a murder that needs to be solved in the wake of all this happening. The mystery sees our heroes questioning former super villains but ultimately stumble upon a secret that’ll shock all of them to their very core.
Has Stargirl been renewed for season 4?
At the time of writing, Stargirl has not been renewed for a fourth season. Given the CW Network were the ones who snagged this from HBO in an effort to “save” the show, it’s a particularly bitter pill to swallow. So why was it cancelled?
Well, generally any of these networks gauge different metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly but other times, it can take months before a final decision is made over a show’s future.
This is particularly baffling because Stargirl has solid viewership, at least according to the stats over at TVSeriesFinale. This season started with 0.501 million viewers, since then the series has dropped to around 0.489 million averagely, showing a very engaged and switched-on audience.
Unless another network pick this up, it seems like the era of Stargirl has come to an end, despite compelling reasons to renew this one.
What we know about season 4 so far:
Barely anything is known about season 4 at this point, given the CW have officially cancelled the show. The likelihood of another Network picking this up is very unlikely, but we’ll be sure to update this page in the future when more information is known though!

I was so darn MAD too when I found out Stargirl was cancelled. I would for them to have a Season 4 Stargirl as well. Wildcat next to Stargirl is my other favorite in the JSA. I would have LOVED to see Yolanda Wildcat Montez be legally and officially adopted by Pat Dugan and Barbara Whitemore-Dugan. Maria Mean-A** and Juan Jacka** have their parental rights permanently terminated concerning Yolanda and their guardian rights permanently terminated by Child Protective Services.
I’m in my 50s and I absolutely love Stargirl, I think it’s ridiculous to cancel such a great, and popular show!

I was watching Stargirl and I really liked it. Please bring it back. It’s a great show. Makes make another show. Chapter 4 would be great. Listen to the people.

Don’t know if I will watch anymore CW shows if they are only going to keep canceling good shows.
Honestly the CW has gone down hill since new ownership!!!! They just continue canceling great shows & replacing them with boring shows I will never watch. Superhero & supernatural shows were the only reason the CW was my favorite network to ever watch now I barely watch anything on this network anymore cuz all there new shows are normies & boring…… Too bad the new owners don’t know great shows if they bit them on the ass!
I don’t understand why you’re canceling the series. People love it and look how long we waited for Season 3. Don’t end this Series. It says Season Finale. Give us season four.
They should not cancel stargirl it was a good show wish somebody would pick that up on season 4

SEASON 3 WAS AWFUL WITHOUT A SEASON 4. IT’S ONE OF THINGS I WISH I NEVER STARTED
I’m just sorry to see another great show dropped after only 3 seasons by another network. It used to be shows would go at least 4 to 5 seasons before getting the ax. They really need to let the really good shows either run longer, or kill off all the main characters or at least work in a closure for all of them.
