Kingdom is an epic, action-packed anime that’s been running for an impressive number of seasons now. If you’ve been following along with this one, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know:

What is Kingdom about?

Kingdom is based on the manga written by Yasuhisa Hara, a historical series depicting the Warring States period of Ancient China between 475 BCE and 221 BCE.

The fifth season in particular looks set to focus on the Qin army going up against the Zhao army. Specifically, within the battle over Koku You Hill.

In this battle, General Kan Ki serves as the Commander-in-Chief, while Shin and the Hi Shin Unit participate as reinforcements. Who will come out on top? And who is likely to bite the dust?

Has Kingdom been renewed for season 6?

At the time of writing, Kingdom has not been renewed for a sixth season. Given how massively popular the show has become since the first episode, it makes sense for more to be produced but at this time, we don’t know for certain.

Generally, Pierrot and Studio Signpost would gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it, fan reaction, and then looking at the drop-off rate.

Furthermore, manga sales and how much of the manga has been adapted are also taken into consideration. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly. Other times, it can take months before a final decision is made about the show’s future.

So far, Kingdom has had a fantastic reaction from audiences and critics alike, with most commenting on its excellent handling of the source material and the great action.

Given the way this show is set up, there’s strong potential for another season to get green-lit. However, it’s still too early to say for sure just yet.

  1. Would love to see 6th season soon. My all time best anime series (Kingdom anime). Can’t stop watching it

  8. Probably 1 of the best anime I only discovered it in December so was chuffed to bits when I heard 5th season was coming out in January and didn’t disappoint but I’ve only had 12 episodes so am on the search for the elusive no 13

  9. I really hope season 6 gets released quickly, was sad to see season 5 only had 13 episodes so can’t wait.

  13. For me kingdom is on level with dragonball Naruto and one. Piece so I would love to continue watching everytime i end episode is with what’s next ,it was amazing I watch anime from season 1 to 4 three time an I still end with wanting to watch it again is to good
