Ferry is the latest serial attempt to follow Ferry Bouman, showing his rise to the top of the criminal world with plenty of drama and high-stakes thrills along the way.

If you’ve finished watching this one, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know so far:

What is Ferry: The Series about?

Before Undercover there was Ferry, and after the Netflix movie sporting the same name, Netflix have returned… with another stab at Ferry’s story. This time though we’re following Ferry’s rise to becoming a notorious drug lord, including how he rose from obscurity by joining the ranks of Brabant’s criminal underbelly. 

Has Ferry been renewed for season 2?

At the time of writing, Netflix have not renewed Ferry for a second season. Given the nature of this series, and how it’s set up as a miniseries, it does seem unlikely to be as well.

Generally Netflix, like other streaming platforms, gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton etc.) Other times, it can take months before Netflix make a decision over a show’s future.

So far, Ferry has had a mixed reaction from audiences and critics alike, which does throw doubts over whether this one will be renewed or not. The completion rate is also another point of contention, while Undercover fans are likely to be the big driver for engagement.

What we know about season 2 so far:

Not much is known about season 2 at the time of writing, given Netflix have only just dropped the first series on the platform. It’s fair to assume that all of our characters will be returning should this be greenlit, and it’s likely we’ll follow more of Ferry’s backstory if it does.

However, we’ll have to wait and see what the official word is from Netflix on this one first.

  3. there has to be another series for Ferry because why would a tv series get started and I see a empty box on Netflix for Ferry 2 this is by far best tv series and movies by Ferry on Netflix I sure am waiting

  5. I love the movie and the series “ferry” and undercover was also great…I would be really happy if Netflix renews ferry for a season 2 and definitely a ferry 2 movie!! For me it’s hard to find something really interesting and something that catches my attention and holds it on TV or steaming apps but Netflix has a few series that have… Ozark, narcos, narcos Mexico, Yankee, and definitely “undercover” and “ferry”…so plz consider reniewing season 2 and another undercover and ferry 2 movie would be great….ferry’s like a twist between breaking bad and an old mob movie!!!

  6. I’ve watched the movie Ferry, the series Ferry and 3 seasons of Undercover,,, absolutely incredible TV,,, Ferry and Bob are truly amazing,,, we have to have another season of these guys ,,, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

  9. If you search ‘Ferry’ on Netflix, there’s actually something called ‘Ferry 2’ with no content, so maybe there will be a second season 👀

  10. just binged it in one night.. I love this series.. Ferry is the bomb! love that guy! please Netflix give us a season two. this show is so good. I don’t even know that I’m reading subtitles… the only other show that I ever felt that way was Gomorrah..

  12. Yes! I really love watching this guy and I’ve watched all of the different shows these characters have been in. Keeps you interested and you care what happens.

  14. A hidden gem of a show, so much so that when using the name Ferry Bouman when ordering a coffee or booking tables in restaurants nobody bats an eye.

    Surely we get a 2nd series

  15. Binged this. Great characters, superb acting – lead especially – and dovetails so well with Undercover and the movie. Certainly merits a second season.

  18. Brilliant series (and film) with good attention to detail and continuity. Will be very disappointed if there’s not more. Ferry is a fantastic character, perfect actor for him. Really enjoying it and could watch loads more!

  20. Definitely give us a second season or more. The characters are well developed, and played well. Frank and Elise are both fantastic as are the supporting cast. Plus, we need to know what becomes of Sabien.

  30. I just watched the series and the movie undercover. I thought it was well thought out and cool ups not put it down. Would like to see a second season
