Down For Love is the latest dating series on Netflix, with a simple premise and plenty of heart-warming moments. With only 5 episodes though, this is a simple, quick watch that’ll leave you wanting more.
If you’ve finished watching this one, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know so far:
What is Down For Love Season 1 about?
Down for Love is essentially the New Zealand version of Love on the Spectrum, with an array of colourful personalities with Down Syndrome looking for love. There’s no gimmicks, no big reveals or anything particularly fancy; men and women go on dates with each other and see how it goes. There’s the usual butterflies during the first meeting, a lot of sweet swoon-worthy moments and a couple of awkward encounters too. But what’s here is delightfully quaint and incredibly moreish.

Has Down for Love been renewed for season 2?
At the time of writing, Netflix have not renewed Down for Love for a second season. Given the nature of this series, that could change if it does good numbers for the streamers.
Generally Netflix, like other streaming platforms, gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton etc.) Other times, it can take months before Netflix make a decision over a show’s future.
So far, Down for Love has had a very good reaction from audiences and critics alike, with the series easy to watch and full of memorable moments.
There’s certainly lots of different pairings and individuals we could meet in future episodes, plus we’d want to find out what’s happened to our various couples that hooked up in this series too! With all that in mind, we predict that Netflix will renew Down for Love for a follow-up season. Now, that could change but this seems like it has more in the tank to give.

What we know about season 2 so far:
Not much is known about season 2 at the time of writing, given Netflix have not officially renewed this one yet. Should the streamers decide to greenlight this one, it’s fair to assume that we’ll have more couples, more dates and more smiles along the way!
It’s likely that Netflix will make an official announcement several months from now, once the final viewing figures are in, but for now we’ll have to wait and see. We’ll be sure to update this section with more information as it becomes available.

Please renew it, we binge watched it, it was an amazing feel good show that just made you smile. I think people need these kinds of shows in their lives, it was wonderful. I want to see more of all of them.

I binged watch this series and absolutely found it heartwarming and refreshing. I love reality dating shows but tire of the ones with so much “skin” and focusing mainly on appearance . These wonderful individuals focus on the truth in their hearts:) I hope there are more seasons!
