Classroom of the Elite is a 13 episode anime that’s recently aired on Crunchyroll and if you’ve finished watching this one, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know so far:
What is Classroom of the Elite about?
Classroom of the Elite centers on Tokyo Koudo Ikusei Senior High School, and this year Kiyotaka Ayanokoji has just enrolled. It’s said that 100% of students go on to college or find employment… but he ends up in Class 1-D, which is full of all the school’s problem children.
What’s more, every month the school awards students points with a cash value of 100,000 yen, and the classes employ a laissez-faire policy in which talking, sleeping, and even sabotage are permitted during class. One month later, Ayanokoji, Horikita, and the students of Class D learn the truth of the system in place within their school…
Has Classroom of the Elite been renewed for Season 4?
At the time of writing, Classroom of the Elite has not been renewed for a fourth season. Given the nature of this series, that could change if there is some positivity from the viewers and encouragement from the creators and the audience.
Generally, anime studios, like other cable networks and streamers, gauges numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton etc.) Other times, it can take months before streamers decide a show’s future.
Classroom of the Elite has had a pretty decent response from fans, although it is worth mentioning that its reaction has been somewhat lukewarm compared to the rest of the anime line-up.
Given how the third season ends, a follow-up may be on the cards but we’ll be sure to update this section with accurate details over the coming weeks and months when we know more!
What do we know about Season 4 so far:
Not much is known about season 4 at the time of writing, given this has not officially renewed this one yet. Classroom of the Elite is a light novel series, not a manga, and as such both formats (the manga and anime) are way behind the source material. There’s plenty more to explore here but given the anime was primarily designed to get eyeballs on the novel series, and we’re now at the end of Year 1, it’s tough to say what will happen with this one.
Lerche will likely make an official announcement several months from now, once the final viewing figures are in. Fans will be eagerly watching for any new announcements, which we anticipate should come in 2024. We’ll be sure to update this section with more information as it becomes available.
