A Time Called You is the latest K-drama from Netflix which is known for exciting thrillers and romance like Squid Game, Love Alarm and Money Heist Korea. Well, this particular time travelling romance is super engaging thanks to its added mystery factor. It happens to be a Korean remake of the popular Taiwanese TV show Someday Or One Day.

It also caught everyone’s eye for casting beloved actors Ahn Hyo-seop, Jeon Yeo-been and Kang Hoon. To top it off, it has exciting cameos by Vincenzo co-star, Seo Ye-hwa, Rowoon, Do Sang-woo of Alchemy of Souls fame and Nation’s Grandmother, Lee Joo-shil. It dropped all 12 episodes on September 8 on Netflix.

So, after watching season 1 in its entirety, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know:

What is A Time Called You season 1 about?

A Time Called You is an exciting time-travelling romance turned murder mystery. After the death of her boyfriend, Yeonjun, a grieving Jun-hee gets a mysterious cassette player. On the night of his anniversary and her birthday, she plays it and is transported to 1998.

She is confused if she is in a dream or her life as Jun-hee was the dream as now she is someone called Min-ju and her best friends are In-gyu and Si-heon, who looks exactly like her supposed dead boyfriend. But her life as Min-ju is not hunky dory as it turns out she was attacked by someone at the same moment she changed from Jun-hee to Min-ju.

Has A Time Called You been renewed for season 2?

At the time of writing, A Time Called You has not been renewed for a season 2.

While the Korean TV industry is changing its format, we are yet to see multiple-season K-dramas as a norm. Sure, we have multiple seasons of Netflix Original K-dramas like Kingdom and Squid Game, but it honestly depends on the streaming platform and if Korean productions are interested in picking up the show for a season 2. 

However, in December 2023, Netflix changed it to a limited series which means there will be no new season.

But there are some storylines we would love to see if we do get a season 2 of A Time Called You. Since a lot of fans have yet to finish the show, we shall stay away from major spoilers.

But we wouldn’t mind exploring more of how the time-travelling works. Maybe Min-ju and In-gyu can get their own happy side story along with Si-heon and Jun-hee. Oh, and how about Yeon-jun and Tae-ha? Rowoon and Ahn Hyo-seop on the same screen needs to happen again.
