Ninja Kamui – Season 1 Episode 12 Recap & Review

Episode 12

Episode 12 of Ninja Kamui kicks off with Higan refusing treatment. The old medic, however, is more concerned about Higan’s emotional wounds than his physical ones. He’s sure that Higan is hurting deeply after a fierce battle with someone he once called a friend. The fight was so intense that both Higan and Zai had to use their secret techniques.

When Higan asks why the medic helped him, even though he broke the most important rule, the medic talks about a long-standing conflict within the ninja clan. For centuries, ninjas have protected Japan, but as the modern world arose, Japan began to distance itself from the traditional ninja ways.

Instead, they started hiring private armies with modern weapons. The chief of the clan wanted to preserve the original ninja ideologies, but it became increasingly difficult. Eventually, Yamazi took over, murdered the original chief, and imposed stricter rules.

One of these rules was that leaving the clan or having a relationship with anyone would be punishable by death.

Dilly helps Joseph escape and then launches an attack on her own master, Yamazi. Just so you know, Dilly was sent by Yamazi to be Joseph’s bodyguard, and she’s willing to fulfill her duty even if it means fighting her master. Dilly knows she’s not strong enough to defeat Yamazi, but she figures she can at least buy some time.

Yamazi gets bored and reveals his own Gusuko gear, which, unlike other models, is perfect and never runs out of power. The battle resumes, and Yamazi easily defeats Dilly, as if it’s just a game for him.

Mike gets arrested, and when questioned about his true intentions, he admits he wants Joseph Evans, CEO of Auza Industries, behind bars. However, Mike’s boss tells him that this won’t happen overnight, and even if it could, they wouldn’t have enough leverage on the FBI to launch a full investigation.

Mike’s boss advises him to give up on this seemingly hopeless pursuit. But soon, it’s revealed that someone, most likely Jason, has leaked all the data he has on Auza to the press, including detailed information on how Auza used the ninja clan for assassinations.

The leak also includes a list of collaborators on Auza’s payroll, but their names have been censored. These censored names are of high-ranking officials in the FBI, and if they don’t launch an investigation, their names will be made public. Subsequently, an arrest warrant for Joseph is issued.

When Joseph learns about the leak, he panics. He swears to make them pay and threatens to overload all the Auza reactors, which could cause catastrophic damage to the world. Mike suspects that Joseph is using the threat as a distraction to flee the country.

Meanwhile, Yamazi launches the final phase of his plan to take over the world. He kidnaps the heads of state from all countries and declares it the first step towards a new era with ninjas in charge.
