Missing Crown Prince – K-drama Episode 7 Recap & Review

Episode 7

Episode 7 of Missing Crown Prince picks up where we left off, with Lee Gon suspecting that Myung Yoon is the royal physician’s daughter, not Yi Wol, as believed. When Lee Gon confronts Myung Yoon about this, Yi Wol pretends to be unconscious to spare Myung Yoon from embarrassment. Yi Wol is taken inside for care, and Lee Gon ponders why Choi Sang Rok kidnapped him.

Later, Lee Gon apologizes to Myung Yoon for his bodyguard’s actions and prepares to leave, but Myung Yoon offers to help him pass through the fortress gates without being seen or caught. Meanwhile, Do Sung orders Yoon Jung Dae to instruct the soldiers to do whatever it takes to find Lee Gon. This is surprising since Lee Gon had previously freed Jung Dae from prison, so it’s unclear why he would want to put Lee Gon back behind bars again.

It seems Do Sung is doing this to gain favor with Choi Sang Rok, hoping to be married off to Myung Yoon. Do Sung declares to Jung Dae that from now on, he and Lee Gon are enemies. On the other hand, Choi Sang Rok discovers that Myung Yoon has disappeared and orders his bodyguard to find her before the bride selection order is issued.

Myung Yoon reaches out to her quirky friends, who help Lee Gon and Gap Seok sneak past the guards at the fortress gates. She insists on joining them, but Lee Gon shows concern for her safety. After a while, Sang Rok’s bodyguard interrogates Myung Yoon’s entourage and learns that they have assisted Myung Yoon and Lee Gon in getting past the fortress gates.

When Sang Rok hears about this, he becomes worried that if Myung Yoon is caught with Lee Gon, all of his efforts will go to waste. He orders his bodyguard to find Myung Yoon as soon as possible. Back at the castle, Queen Yoon sends her loyal maid to fetch a physician unaffiliated with Choi Sang Rok. When Queen Dowager and Grandfather Yoon find out, they have the guards remove the physician from the king’s chambers.

Later, Queen Yoon and Queen Dowager have a private conversation where Yoon clarifies her distrust for Dowager and anyone associated with her. Queen Yoon accuses Dowager of being a devious woman who used her to poison her own husband. As Dowager leaves the room, Yoon warns her not to underestimate her.

Sang Rok and Grandfather Yoon have a chat about delaying the Crown Prince’s announcement because the seals are missing. So, Grandfather Yoon plans to fake the royal seal to crown Do Sung as the Crown Prince. Do Sung is hesitant at first, but Grandfather Yoon convinces him, saying it’s the best way to keep the King safe.

Meanwhile, Myung Yoon falls sick with a bad fever. Lee Gon carries her to a local village doctor, who says she’ll be fine with some rest. The doctor suggests they stay there until Myung Yoon is better. But it appears that the doctor has recognized Lee Gon and Gap Seok and looks like he’s about to turn them over to the royal guards. Not long after, the soldiers surrounded the place. Lee Gon and Myung Yoon try their best to fight them but are eventually arrested.

The Episode Review

Choi Sang Rok is in a real pickle now! No matter how hard he tries to keep things under control, they just keep spiraling out of hand. With Lee Gon and Myung Yoon caught, if they spill the beans in court, it could spell disaster for Sang Rok.

His new promotion as the grand inspector could be in jeopardy, especially if it’s revealed that Myung Yoon is working with the deposed prince.

But knowing Sang Rok, he’s not one to go down without a fight. He’s notorious for pulling off last-minute miracles, so he’ll probably come up with some cunning plan to turn the tables in his favour.
