I think the most interesting sub-plots in order of the interestingness
– Margo – hands down. I would be happy with episodes that just completely followed her and what’s going in the Soviet Union with no other subplots. It’s the best drama and has the biggest stakes. Wren Schmidt plays “scared sh!tless,” very well.
– Kelly/Aleida/Dev – I really like the energy that these characters have. It’s not running around in space, but I find scenes with Dev/Aleida to be exciting. His boardroom coup was dope. Aleida’s PTSD and drive is really interesting. Kelly needs to find some different tactics as an actress. She seems to be always on the edge of teary lament. Coral Pena is a really good actor and tends to outshine everyone else around her.
– Miles – his actions sort of have a Ferris Bueller’s day off tone to them. This might get interesting, but Mars has been pretty dull this year! Also, idiot is using an ATM to send cash back home. You don’t think that Helios is going to notice a GIANT SPIKE IN CASH MONEY??? It’s probably in the fine print that they can look.
– Ed – not too sympathetic towards him. He’s aloof to Miles’s struggles. Neglecting his family and hiding out with his Mars ganja. Maybe this downward dip is so he can have a strung final act? I think it points to him succumbing to heroics.
– Oh yeah, Danielle is in it too.
Hey – I noticed no one has walked around on Mars yet. They just stay indoors and exchange contraband.
