Episode 13 of Fantasy Island season 2 starts with Elena praying for guidance to help solve the Ruby situation. In the meantime, Javier arrives with the guests. The first guests are two ladies, Jenna and Sue, who were once married to a man named Gavin Beck. The second guest is MJ, Ruby’s daughter who is under the impression that her mom is dead. She is hoping that visiting the Island where her mom died will help her get some closure.

Elsewhere Ruby is on her way to meet with the third wife of Gavin Beck, Brooklyn. The couple already arrived on the Island a few days earlier. The three women are planning to get their revenge on Gavin for manipulating and hurting their feelings.

Do the three women get their revenge?

Well, Gavin cheated on Sue with Jenna (his head of marketing at the time) when they were married. When Sue started getting suspicious, Gavin gaslighted her and made her think she was going crazy. It got so bad that she got herself committed. After her treatment, she obtained proof of his affair and divorced him.

He got married to Jenna and together they built the company but once he got tired of Jenna, he dumped her abruptly. Jenna had kept up with the cheating and everything else but the last straw was when he ended their professional relationship as well as their romantic.

In comes Brooklyn, who thought she could fix him and he wanted to change. Her father tried to stop her from marrying Gavin but she was blinded by love. By the time the scales on her eyes fell off, it was too late. Gavin started cheating and gaslighting her and Brooklyn never forgave herself for not listening to her late dad.

Throughout the episode, the three women use a voodoo doll to torture Gavin but in the end, they realize they want their freedom from the pain they have been carrying around. Finally, Gavin understands what he did to the women after feeling their pain after being tied to the throne of tears and begs for forgiveness.

What happened to Ruby?

Once  MJ arrives on the Island, Elena employs the help of Javier and  Segundo to explain how Ruby is alive and what happened.  Initially, MJ is in denial but she believes Elena once she sees her mom.  MJ is shocked to meet with a young version of her mother who doesn’t remember her.

Throughout the episode, MJ tries to connect with Ruby but it is a heartbreaking process. She is also surprised to see her mom with Isla.  All this takes a toll on MJ and it makes her question if she is the right child to save Ruby. However, Javier convinces her that she was the right choice.

On the other hand, Isla is not pleased to see that Elena brought Ruby’s daughter to the island. She is determined to get what she wants and confronts Elena. Isla gets impatient and tries to hypnotize Ruby to go with her. Luckily, MJ appears just in time to save Ruby before she makes a vow to be a mermaid.

After Ruby comes back to her senses, she asks Isla to let her go but Isla tries to pull her further into the ocean. MJ saves Ruby and brings her back to the beach. Ruby is happy that MJ saved her and they talk and reminisce to test Ruby’s memory.  Ruby asks for forgiveness and expresses her pride in her daughter. MJ also thanks Ruby for being her mom and understands why she can’t leave the island.

Later that night, Ruby says goodbye to Isla and confronts her for erasing her memories. She dumps Isla and promises never to change her mind. Isla gives her the wedding ring she threw into the ocean when she first came to the island.

Does MJ stay on the island?

MJ returns after saying a tearful goodbye to her mom. Ruby gives her the wedding ring and sees her off. MJ’s memories of the Island are wiped clean before she leaves. The best part is, she gets her closure and even with her memories wiped, she still gets a sense of peace.

Do Javier and Elena officially get back together?

Yes, our two love birds get back together and even Helene blesses their reunion. Ruby played a major role in this. She convinced Javier to stop holding back and tell Elena that he wants to be in a relationship with her.  Elena apologises for hurting him and promises to handle their hard times together.

How does Fantasy Island season 2 end?

After saving Ruby, Elena throws a party at her house and Ruby thanks everyone for saving her. Helene is also at the party and everyone is happy that the family is back together. They party the evening away and appreciate that they have each other.

The Episode Review

This was a perfect end to the show. My only issue was that this didn’t feel like a finale maybe because the stakes were not amped up. But still, it was certainly entertaining! Everyone found their way and they overcome their problems together.

Fantasy Island is one of those shows that is easily relatable and the guests are a big part of that. Ultimately, this final chapter wraps everything up in a worthwhile and well written manner. What did you like about this season and who was your favorite guest? Let us know in the comments below!
