Delusional Monthly Magazine – Season 1 Episode 4 Recap & Review

Monstrous Mystery?! The Secret of Loch Nuss

Delusional Monthly Magazine Episode 4 starts with the gang of the Delusional Monthly Magazine discussing what they should cover in their next issue. Taro, as usual, is lazy and wants the easy way. Goro suggests they expose the White Pegasus company and their intentions. However, they drop the idea as it doesn’t align with the content of the magazine.

After much discussion, Goro tells them about another plan to investigate Loch Nuss. The groundskeeper of the Loch Nuss Campgrounds informs them about the monster called Nussie that lurks in the lake.

Taro is demotivated at first but gets tempted and changes his mind, realizing it is a hotspot for couples. As they set out, it’s revealed that Noin and Perch were keeping an eye on them and started following them to the campsite.

The ride is rough, but as soon as they reach the campgrounds, Goro asks about the sightings of Nussie, and the groundskeeper confirms that they are true.

Taro is dejected that there are no people around and decides to go fishing to pass his time. Giro, along with his dog, decides to go and search for Nussie. Goro then decides to cook for everyone from the supplies they have bought.

As Taro is fishing, it starts to get misty, and a figure appears. This happens to be a girl named Yasuko. Taro is very pleased to find someone on the camping site; however, Yasuko steers the conversation towards Nussie. As Taro and Yasuko are talking, it appears to Giro from the side of the lake that Taro is talking to himself.

The groundskeeper reveals to Goro that it was Yasuko who spotted Nussie. However, he tells Goro that Yasuko, who had set out to find Nussie, returned with grave wounds that eventually led to her death.

Taro is communicating with the spirit of Yasuko, and she guides him to a part of the river that has a rock that looks somewhat like a mopart. Just then, Giro and Goro rush towards him to inquire what it is and start inspecting the rock.

Noin and Perch rush into the scene to take hold of the rock. Noin uses the mopart to transform into a mortarian by using the mopart they stole. Taro, in an attempt to protect the rock, tries to transform himself, but it doesn’t work. Jiro then uses the existing mopart to transform Taro into a mortarian to fight Noin and Perch.

At the beginning of the battle, Taro gains the higher ground while fighting Noin. As they battle, Giro tries to take pictures but isn’t able to get a clear one due to their high speed. As the battle continues, Noin comes closer to defeating Taro; however, Yasuko’s spirit hurls an arrow at Noin, causing a diversion as Taro gets back into the battle.

Perch, seeing Noin losing the battle, snatches the rock in the chaos from Goro’s hand and runs away along with Noin. Taro tries to pursue them, but he runs out of strength and transforms back into a human.

While examining the shots at the end of the day, they realize that one of the blurry shots ended up capturing Loch Nuss, which they can use to cover their next issue at the end of Delusional Monthly Magazine Episode 4.
