What Happened In Episode 8?
In Delicious In Dungeon Season 1 Episode 8, Marcille wakes up and is concerned about Laios’s well-being. Chilchuk and Senshi tell Marcille that Laios will be fine. Marcille ponders this dungeon’s layout and beasts briefly. Then, we enter a flashback depicting Marcille’s academic experiences. We learn Marcille heirs from a talented family and has the potential to become a court mage.
Their teacher assigns everyone with a spirit breeding task and we observe everyone completing said task. After that, we cut to everyone placing their spirit-breeding jars inside the darkroom. Marcille receives praise for her effort and helps another female student (who we learn is Falin) out. Others warn Marcille about Falin’s slacker behavior.
Then, a few days pass. Everyone grabs their jars from the darkroom and we learn Falin’s jar bred multiple spirits. Marcille asks Falin how she pulled this off. Falin says she visited a real dungeon to pull it off. This entices the two to venture to the real dungeon. After several mishaps and discussions ensue there, Marcille and Falin decide to become friends.
Next, we return to the present timeline. Marcille and Laios share a few words about Falin and Marcille asks Chilchuk if she can clean herself before they leave this area for good. While pampering herself, Marcille reflects on their former party members’ decision to leave the group for monetary purposes. Later, she notices she forgot to remove the boiled water she used to clean herself.
She heads to this dungeon’s water area to dispose of it. This results in Marcille getting into a scary affair with a water-like creature called an Undine. A battle occurs, resulting in Marcille losing a lot of magic and energy. Laios and the others decide to wait it out and cook a Kelpie-themed dish. Then, Laios escorts Marcille to their eating area and everyone digs into the Kelpie meal.
Next, a group of adventures gets a whiff of Senshi’s cooking. One of them finds it odd that someone’s cooking a meal in this area. The episode closes and we learn that the person questioning this development happens to be one of Laios’s party members who left the group for monetary reasons.
