Dandadan – Chapter 151 Recap & Review

Get That Family Jewel Back

Chapter 151 of Dandadan begins with Okarun placing Momo on a staircase. Next, Okarun spots Zuma and attempts to head toward him. Okarun wonders how he’ll obtain the Gold Ball from Zuma since he knows he can’t defeat Zuma without his powers. Meanwhile, Serpo and the police officer examine Zuma’s movements and question how they can mess with his mobility.

Then, Okarun arrives and tells Serpo to transform into a rocket. Serpo says he can’t transform into a rocket because he lacks the nanoskin necessary to turn into one. However, Serpo says he can make a jetpack. Serpo conjures a jetpack and uses it to get close to Zuma. However, something happens, causing Serpo to plummet to the ground. Serpo rejoins Okarun and the police officer and explains why he can’t reach Zuma.

Next, Okarun tells Serpo to make a heater. Serpo conjures a heater and attaches its cords to Okarun and the police officer. He says Okarun and the police officer will power the device with the energy they’re outputting while running. Suddenly, Zuma struggles to maintain his stance in the air due to Okarun and Serpo’s heater plan.

Next, a tornado forms, causing Zuma to plummet toward the police officer, Serpo, and Okarun. The police officer, Serpo, and Okarun fight Zuma. Zuma knocks Serpo and the police officer away. Next, Zuma menacingly stomps on Okarun, causing a mild wind current to form. Then, Zuma turns around and notices Okarun nearby.

The chapter closes with Okarun holding his Gold Ball while he’s in his transformed state.

The Chapter Review

Unlike most manga that are taking a break this week, Dandadan’s Yukinobu Tatsu chose to deliver another interesting chapter for fans to read. As with others, this one continues following Okarun and the other’s battle with Zuma. Unfortunately, Momo’s still down for the count, but thankfully, Okarun places her in a spot that’ll leave her less vulnerable to Zuma’s onslaught.

Additionally, this chapter captures Dandadan’s bizarre nature well. From Okarun’s strange heater plan to Serpo summoning a jetpack mid-battle, this chapter is filled with the wickedness people expect from Dandadan. Moreover, action junkies will adore the chapter’s subtle combat-centered panels involving Serpo, the police officer, Okarun, and Zuma. Also, if there’s one thing Dandadan’s known for, it’s the visually pleasing artwork.

While the way Okarun retrieved his gold ball feels mildly convenient, it’s great seeing him strut his iconic superhuman transformation again. Therefore, we anticipate his battle with Zuma will be more engaging narratively and visually from here. Overall, this was an enjoyable follow-up chapter of Dandadan. Hopefully, Okarun will give Zuma a run for his money in the next one.
