The Masterful Cat Runs Away From Home

In episode 12 of The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today, Saku and her coworkers are shown chatting at the beginning of the episode. Given that it is Monday, we can tell that her coworkers are somewhat surprised by how well she has prepped. Then they start probing her about what she’s been hiding. Saku continues by saying that she finds solace in her cat, Yukichi.

The past is revealed to us in this glance. Saku’s profound disappointment in having to return to work on Monday is evident. Following this, Yukichi tries to shut her mouth, but his pheromones have the opposite effect and soothe Saku.

After a long day, Saku finally makes it home. Yukichi then gives her some of his homemade meals. Happily, Saku devours it all in one sitting.

On a Sunday, Saku gets out of bed. She’s overjoyed that she doesn’t have to go to the office now. Following that, she makes a play drop towards Yukichi, but he ducks out of the way. The two then engage in a humorous brawl.

Later that day, at home, Saku discovers Yukichi’s wallet. Saku knows Yukichi has left the house. Following this, Saku begins to worry by imagining the worst possible outcomes.

Soon, Saku heads out to find Yukichi. Saku runs into Yukichi at the supermarket. Yukichi shows Saku his card after being given his purse. It appears that he could get by without the purse after all.

We are transported back to the past. Once, when he was a kitten, Yukichi sought to get away from Saku, as we understand. He noticed that she wasn’t taking care of herself, so he predicted that she wouldn’t have a lengthy life expectancy.

Yukichi resolves to leave to prevent himself from feeling the sorrow of losing Saku in the future. Ultimately, though, he is unable to run away since Saku’s memories prevent him from doing so. Following that, he walks back inside the house.

If Saku isn’t going to look after herself, Yukichi establishes that he needs to step in. As a consequence, he begins doing some minor chores, and the episode comes to an end.

The Episode Review

Both the plot and our understanding of Yukichi and Saku advance with this episode. There are three stories presented in this episode. On Mondays, we witness Saku dreading going back to the office. Furthermore, we see an incident in which Yukichi leaves his wallet at home. In the episode’s final story, we find out what makes the Masterful Cat, well, masterful. We learn when Yukichi first started helping out around the house.

In this episode, we hear about three very touching experiences. The introduction of Yukichi into Saku’s life has inspired her to improve her efficiency at work, as is shown in the episode. You can’t help but be moved by the depth of affection shared by Saku and Yukichi. Seeing what more the anime has in store for us in the upcoming episode will be exciting.
