23.5 (Thai GL) – Season 1 Episode 6 Recap & Review

The Apocalypse

Episode 6 of 23.5 begins with Ongsa being sad but she tells her parents she is just stressed from studying. Aylin tells her that she needs to come clean soon or Sun won’t forgive her.

At school, all of Sun’s friends fawn over the bracelet. However, Dear is sceptical and calls out Earth for flaking out. Sun refuses to listen as she trusts him. Ongsa overhears and feels terrible for fooling her.

Mawin is making heart eyes at Tin when Ton pops up. He thinks Mawin likes Charoen and is shocked to learn otherwise. He wonders why no one likes Charoen as she is so sweet. Mawin goes on to clean the council room on his own when Tin offers to help. Mawin is flustered but accepts his help.

Elsewhere, the Astronomy Club has a new decor project but Ongsa is still spaced out and everyone wonders what’s up with her. She runs off when Sun tries to get her attention. Unsure how to help Ongsa, Aylin tells Luna everything.

Ongsa is still sulking at home when Luna and Sun show up. Turns out Aylin invited them for a sleepover and Ongsa is terrified. Aylin explains to her that they will help her tell the truth to Sun. As they work on the project, Luna brings up Earth and Sun says she loves him. She even says she won’t care what he looks like. Aylin tells Ongsa it is her chance but she loses her nerve.

That night, as they try to figure out where the girls should bunk, Luna insists on rooming with Aylin while Sun decides to sleep in Ongsa’s room. Aylin is embarrassed as Luna is fascinated with her outer space decor. However, Luna says it is a good thing to find someone who likes the same thing and she is one of them. Aylin is more at ease and gives her a tour of her room.

Meanwhile, Ongsa insists on keeping a distance but Sun gets mad and tells her not to go out of her way. Ongsa gives in and they share the bed. Ongsa tries to tell her about Earth again but simply thanks her for being friends. She also compliments her smile and Sun blushes. Sun falls asleep with Ongsa tucking her in.

In the morning, Sun is amused by Ongsa’s dishevelled appearance as she fixes her hair and the blanket. She then texts Earth and hears the notification of Ongsa’s phone. She doesn’t think much of it but as every text of hers to Earth correlates with more notifications with Ongsa’s phone she gets anxious. She finally picks up Ongsa’s phone to see her text in the notifications. Ongsa wakes up and Sun asks if she is Earth.

The confrontation is a mess as both tear up. Sun is hurt as she thinks Ongsa is making a fool of her. Ongsa feels miserable as she apologises and runs off. Sun goes home but Ongsa doesn’t return. Aylin and Luna get worried as they alert Ongsa’s parents. They finally find her but she refuses to tell them what has happened.

Sun is relieved to hear they have found Ongsa as she looks at the bracelet she has taken off. She recalls her memories of every time Ongsa complimented her and said Earth definitely liked Sun. She wears the bracelet again and is glad that Earth is Ongsa.

Ongsa is not ready to tell her parents but they are supportive no matter what. She is glad but wants to be alone. While she heads out to get dog food, she runs into Sun. Sun says she wants to talk to her but Ongsa is too scared as she runs off. Sun refuses to give up as she looks and finds her at the same park.

As Sun approaches, Ongsa apologises for not being a guy. But Sun thanks her for being there for her and she has always felt great when they’ve spoken whether as Ongsa or Earth. Sun adds that she is not sure about a romantic relationship between them but she is ready to try. But first, they should start afresh and they shake hands at the end of 23.5 Episode 6.

The Episode Review

23.5 Episode 6 honestly had us on the edge of our seats. We finally got the Earth reveal but not before some tears. But first, we do have to talk about how sweet Luna and Aylin are. Aylin finally feels comfortable to share her worries with Luna and ask for her help. Luna also gets why Aylin keeps her distance from people and does her best to get her to let more people in.

Now onto our main couple. Oh boy, did we get frustrated with Ongsa. Girl why you running all the time? Sun gave you two chances and you just ran off! Not everyone is a saint like Sun, poor girl was ready to hear her out. Though that ending with the way they patch up was super sweet. Both are ready to give their relationship a chance even if they don’t know where it will lead them. Bring on the next episode!
