What did Raul Meza Jr. do?

Raul Meza Jr. is a suspected serial killer in Austin, Texas, who is known to have killed at least 3 people but is currently being investigated for committing many more murders.

He was a convicted child rapist and murderer, having taken the life of 8-year-old Kendra Page. In 1982, he was sentenced to 30 years in prison, but for some reason, he was given parole in 1993, after serving just 11 years. This wasn’t the first time this evil monster was paroled, after being sentenced to 20 years in prison in 1976 for aggravated robbery and he was released in 1981.

What happened when he was arrested in 2023?

Meza Jr. was arrested again at a bus stop on the 29th of May 2023, days after confessing to killing his 80-year-old housemate Jesse Fraga. The dead body of Fraga was discovered at his home with a belt around his neck on the 20th of May. Fraga was a former probation officer, and his family requested a welfare check after they hadn’t spoken to him for over a week. Meza also confessed to the murder of Gloria Lofton at her home in Austin in 2019.

Meza was charged with 2 counts of murder, but investigators are looking into multiple cold cases that match Meza’s modus operandi. A judge has set a hearing for the 17th of January 2023, revealing this as the first step in the case and admitting there is still a lot to be done before Meza goes on trial, meaning this case could be dragged out for years before Meza Jr. is convicted. The main thing is that he is in prison and can’t harm anyone else.

Where is Raul Meza Jr. now?

Meza is being held in Travis County Jail in Austin, Texas. He is 62 years old and faces the possibility of the death penalty if he is convicted of the 2 murders he has been charged with. Nobody knows how many more people he killed, but the parole board may have blood on their hands for releasing this child killer after serving only 11 years for the murder of a child.
