What happened to Harry Pitman?
Harry Pitman was a 16-year-old boy who was out celebrating on New Year’s Eve at a fireworks display when an argument broke out and he was stabbed to death with a hunting knife. Police were just yards away when the incident took place at North London’s Primrose Hill.
Medics frantically tried to save the teen’s life, but he was pronounced dead 20 minutes before 2024 began. The killer wasn’t arrested at the scene, but an investigation was launched and he was later apprehended for the murder.
Who was the killer?
The accused killer is also 16 years old and can’t be named because of his young age. He was taken into custody and charged with murder at the Old Bailey. The teen hasn’t entered a plea yet, with a trial preparation hearing set for the 26th of March 2024. A provisional 4-week trial date was set for the 2nd of September 2024.
The Met Police have confirmed that Harry’s devastated family are being supported by specialist officers. A 17-year-old boy was also arrested in connection with the murder on the 4th of January, but he has been released on bail. 3 other boys were arrested in connection with the murder, but no further action will be taken.
Where is the suspected killer now?
It is not known where Harry Pitman’s suspected killer is currently being held. There seems to be a lot of protection for murderers who commit crimes when they are still kids themselves.
Do you think that if you commit an adult crime, you should be treated like an adult? Should the killer should be named and shamed for the crime they have committed, which has left a family devastated by the loss of their family member?
Unfortunately, Harry Pitman has been robbed of his future and will be forever missed by his family and friends.
