Undead Unluck – Season 1 Episode 10 Recap & Review

Result

Episode 10 of Undead Unluck begins with a man speaking with a being named Unseen about their abilities. We return to the Union Facility and see everyone from Andy to Juiz at the Roundtable. They’re waiting for Apocalypse to share their mission results with them. Apocalypse congratulates Juiz, Billy, Tatiana, Isshin, Phil, and Top for completing their assignment. He adds a new seat to the roundtable and says they can add a new Negator to the Union.

As for the second mission award, he identifies Unburn’s location and says it’ll be available for seven days. As for Nico’s mission, he rewards him by putting everything in English. He rewards the fourth mission’s participants with the Rebellion Artifact’s location. As for Andy, Shen, and Fuko’s mission, he rewards our trio with Unrepair’s location. As for the sixth mission involving Unseen, the people who tackled it perished so Apocalypse deems it a failure.

Since they didn’t complete every mission, Apocalypse penalizes the Union by summing up the UMA Galaxy. Juiz asks a being named Move to transport them to the UMA’s location. Juiz states they must defeat this new UMA Apocalypse brought into their world. The UMA summons multiple Earth-like planets and an alien race called Acks. The Acks invade Earth and Juiz confronts their leader. The Acks leader tells them to surrender but Juiz refuses to stand down.

Suddenly, the Acks’ ships and men get destroyed one by one. The Acks leader asks Juiz why his fleet is turning against each other. Juiz ignores him and explains this is happening because of her Unjustice abilities. Despite saving everyone with her powers, Juiz tells our heroes that it’s important that they avoid future penalties. She says Apocalypse has filled 99 slots worth of penalties out of 101. However, if they reach past 100, Ragnarok will occur, hinting toward “the end.”

Juiz says it’s important for them to fill in the 11th seat within three months, otherwise, they’ll receive a penalty. After instilling fear into the Acks leader, he flees and warns other extraterrestrial organisms not to invade Earth. They all agree to hunt Unrepair and recruit him. Juiz assigns Andy, Fuko, and Tatianna to the task. The episode closes with Andy promising Juiz that they’ll accomplish this mission.

The Episode Review

After giving fans something to speculate about Andy’s character, many will question Juiz and Apocalypse’s characters after this week’s chapter’s events. From Juiz’s Unjustice ability to Apocalypse’s sketchy penalties and demeanor, Undead Unluck presents viewers with many questions and ideas worth discussing with other watchers and encourages viewer engagement with the work.

I’m interested to learn more about Juiz and Apocalypse as we progress further into this wacky, action-packed tale. At the same time, it’s nice seeing Andy and Fuko pair up with different Union members for assignments. While Shen’s a fun and intriguing fellow in his own right, having Tatianna join our heroes for this Unrepair mission gives her character a chance to shine.

While this formula can become stale over time, it’s a great way to explore the other Union members’ abilities and backgrounds. However, it would be interesting to see the series take a break from Andy and Fuko and focus solely on the other Union members’ missions without them, too.

Overall, this was an intriguing episode of Undead Unluck. It raises the stakes and sets fans up for a thrilling encounter between our heroes and Unrepair. I’m looking forward to witnessing how that development unfolds.
