The finale of season 1 saw Makoto defeat Sofia Bulga, a powerful adventurer, alongside Mitsurugi, a dragon. As a result, the two elect to join the demon army’s quest to destroy humanity. Makoto prevents this though, playing directly into the hands of the goddess who first summoned him.
Nevertheless, Makoto continues to do what he does best, growing the community that he has helped build within Tomoe’s personal dimension. Given the first season covers the first four volumes, give or take, season 2 will presumably cover the next four, which could see plenty more development for Makoto in the future… but we won’t spoil that here!
