What Happened to Jeffrey Dahmer? | The True Story of the Milwaukee Monster

One of America’s most notorious serial killers, Jeffrey Dahmer killed and cannibalized 17 males in a gruesome span of 13 years. Dahmer performed necrophilia on most of his victims and kept their body parts as souvenirs. Dahmer’s absolute insensitivity to human feelings and macabre ways earned him the nickname Milwaukee Monster.

What was Jeffrey Dahmer’s Childhood like?

Jeffrey Dahmer’s childhood was near-normal for the most part, but very far from perfect. His parents often had heated arguments. His mother suffered from depression due to which she could not devote much time to him. Some reports suggest there was a change in Dahmer’s personality after he underwent double hernia surgery. He went from being energetic to extremely quiet.

Dahmer was an outcast in school – a below-average, uncommunicative student with a few friends.  Of course, there were incidents that might have had a negative impact on him, but no kind of adversity could give birth to a monster of his stature unless it’s deliberate.

How did Jeffrey Dahmer murder his first victim?

Jeffrey Dahmer’s father was a chemist who would often teach his child about the use of chemicals. Dahmer often inquired about chemicals used to preserve bones and flesh. His father, glad at what he believed to be his child’s scientific curiosity, would explain everything in detail. Years later, Dahmer used the techniques taught by his father to preserve the remains of his victims as souvenirs.

In 1978, Dahmer picked up a 19-year-old hitchhiker. He invited the guy into his apartment for booze. After drinking, as the person got up to leave, Dahmer bludgeoned him with a dumbbell. Dahmer then strangled him to death with a bar of the dumbbell. After performing necrophilia, Dahmer dissected his victim’s body, crushed his bones, dissolved his flesh in acid, and got rid of everything that was left. Dahmer didn’t kill anyone for the next nine years. But, once he restarted, there was no stopping him.

He murdered his second victim in 1987, and in the next four years until his capture in 1991, Dahmer had killed 15 more men and boys.

How was Jeffrey Dahmer caught?

Jeffrey Dahmer asked a man to pose for nude photographs in return for $100. The man agreed and went with Dahmer to his apartment. However, he immediately realized Dahmer’s intentions were violent. He punched Dahmer in the face and ran out through the front door.

He reported the incidents to the cops. Before long, there was a knock on Dahmer’s apartment which held evidence of years of unimaginably dark crimes.

The cops discovered the remains of 11 bodies in Dahmer’s apartment along with seven skulls, two hearts, two skeletons, preserved genitals, a pair of severed hands, multiple dismembered torsos and other organs. Dahmer was arrested, and charged with 15 counts of first-degree murder. Dahmer pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 16 terms of life imprisonment.

What happened to Jeffrey Dahmer in the end?

In November of 1994, Jeffrey Dahmer was bludgeoned to death with a metal bar by a fellow inmate at Columbia Correctional Institute. Dahmer’s killer said he was ‘disgusted’ by his act.
