Tokyo Vice Season 2 Episode 3

HBO has brought Tokyo Vice back for another season. The engrossing crime drama delivered the goods in its first outing, thanks to an immersive portrait of the Japanese underworld.

Ansel Elgort and Ken Watanabe lead the cast once again in Season 2, which has now made its debut. JT Rogers is returning to the fore as the showrunner, while the director’s chair gets a clean slate.

We are excited to bring you coverage of all the episodes in Season 2 with episodic recaps and preview articles for each new episode, assisting you to keep up with the unfolding drama.

Here is everything you need to know about Tokyo Vice Season 2 Episode 3, including its release date, time, and where you can watch this.

Where Can I Watch Tokyo Vice Season 2?

Tokyo Vice Season 2 will be exclusively available to watch on HBO Max and HBO Go for our readers in the US, Latin America, and other major geographies in Europe. However, in Japan, the show will be streaming on Wowow. Elsewhere, for our readers in France, Canal+ will host the second season. Paramount+ will be distributing the show for the Australian continent.

Our readers in India can watch the show on Jio Cinema, who have an exclusive tie-up for HBO’s streaming and legacy content. The position of Season 2’s release is unclear at the moment for the UK and Ireland. While the first season is available to watch on BBC’s iPlayer, Starzplay had the first-window rights for that season. Expect the new episodes to come out on either of these platforms.

Tokyo Vice Season 2 Episode 3 Release Date

Tokyo Vice Season 2 Episode 3 will be released on Thursday, 15th February at 9 pm (ET)/(PT). Expect the runtime to be roughly 51 minutes or thereabouts, which is consistent with the time frame for the first season. With more episodes, it is unlikely that the runtime will breach the hour mark on too many occasions like in the first season.

The show will stick to a weekly release schedule after the first two episodes have aired, tugging the Thursday airings at the same time mentioned above. Only a single episode will be released each week until the finale airs on 4 April.

The new episodes of Tokyo Vice do not have a specific title yet. However, we expect that to change going forward since the first two episodes in Season 2 had meaningful titles. The episode will be available to stream with subtitles. Its plot summary is currently not available.

How Many Episodes Will Tokyo Vice Have?

Tokyo Vice Season 2 will have a total of ten episodes. This is an increase from the number in the previous season which had 8. After the third episode has aired, there will be seven more episodes left in the series. HBO is not expected to make any scheduling changes. But in case that happens, we will update our readers through these weekly preview articles.

What happened in Episodes 1 & 2?

The first two episodes of Tokyo Vice begin right from Season 1’s end. One of the men in the video where Polina is beaten to death is Shigematsu, the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs. The Meicho decides to pursue the story but first wants to take his comment. Shigematsu denies any knowledge of the video or the Yoshino, Tozawa’s yacht. The story is going to be published anyway but the minister makes sure that isn’t the case.

The tape is kept in the newspaper’s office where it is destroyed in an “accidental fire.” Sato fights for his life in the hospital. One of the other Chihara-kai members, Gen, is the one who stabbed him. When he learns Sato’s location, Gen wants to finish off the job. However, Ishida instructs his men to bring him to a safe location and watches over him personally until he gets well again.

Gen goes to Yabuki, Tozawa’s right-hand man, when he learns that Sato has regained consciousness. However, Yabuki decides to offer him back to Ishid as a peace offering between the two gangs. He will most probably succeed Tozawa in the chair and does not expect a rerun in Japan.

Shigematsu is held at knifepoint by Katagiri to reveal the truth about Tozawa. The minister reveals that the crime boss was banned from flying to the US. However, he blackmailed him to get access, which is most probably for the treatment of his ailment.

Jake chases a new story of bike thieves and becomes embroiled in a controversial approach. Samatha’s new club is off and running. She names it after Polina and is reunited with Sato, who is now the number three in Chihara-kai.

Hayama, a former clan member, returns from Fuchu to be the second in command after Ishida. The Deputy Superintendent from the National Police Agency, Shoto Nagata, takes an interest in Katagiri. The man has been posted as a frivolous complaint receiver at the front desk. He has managed to stay away from the yakuza and dreads going back.

After initially rejecting Nagata’s offer to join her special task force to take organized crime down, Katagiri has a change of heart after talking to Junko. Jake and Mistuki begin a romantic relationship, although it is unclear if it makes sense for either of those two.
