To a Dangerous Town

At the beginning of The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash Episode 8, Ivy is shown searching through the trash to find some food for Sora. She discovers several portions lying around, and she gladly scoops them up and takes them with her.

A conversation takes place between Ivy and Mira, during which Mira tells Ivy that she is a tamer. After that, Ivy asks about slimes, and Mira begins to tell about how tamers can make a significant amount of money by taming rare slimes and selling them. Immediately following Mira’s departure, we watch Ivy have chills going down her spine, just like she had when she was riding Ciel’s back.

In the later part of that day, we find Ivy working to prepare dinner for the group of adventurers that she is now traveling with. They are truly awed by her culinary skills. After some time has passed, Mira and her brothers come to join the adventures. Following that, they spend some time having an entertaining talk about how they first got acquainted with Ivy.

After the sun has set, it is observed that Ivy is having a chat with Sora inside her tent. This time around, she is experiencing the same dreadful sensation. Following this, we watch the explorer chef ask her for help preparing breakfast the following morning. To his delight, Ivy is willing to lend a hand to him. Ivy talks to Sora about Mira after he leaves, and Sora feels nervous, suggesting that Mira isn’t reliable. Ivy makes a note of this, but she does not convey this information to anyone just yet.

The following day, Ivy joins the other adventurers in their journey to the settlement of Otolwa. After they have put up their tents, they have a private conversation with her about the kidnappers that are in the village. Immediately after this, Ivy reveals to them that she harbors deep-seated concerns regarding Mira. After doing an in-depth investigation, the adventurers provide Ivy with confirmation that she is correct in her thoughts of Mira.

Ivy believes she can be honest with the adventurers about Sora since they have trusted her. Following this, she introduces the adventurers to Sora. They think that her slime is adorable, and they understand why she chose to keep it a secret. In light of this, Ivy is relieved that she was able to put her faith in them, and the episode comes to an end.

The Episode Review

During the eighth episode, Ivy’s delectable cooking has brought her a great deal of popularity. Following a job well done, the suppression squad celebrates with a feast, and the following day, they embark on their journey to Otolwa with Ivy. However, although she is utterly enamored with her first impression of a large town, it hides a serious issue.

In the same vein as the episodes that came before it, this one is also quite amusing, heartfelt, and pleasant. It is extremely commendable that the show encourages its viewers to not give up hope, along with the fact that it has the exceptional characteristic of displaying resiliency through the main character.

Given that the show has been quite light yet thought-provoking up to this point, it’ll be interesting to see the direction the show takes moving forward.
