The Unwanted Undead Adventurer – Season 1 Episode 4 Recap & Review

Existential Adventurer

The Unwanted Undead Adventurer Episode 4 begins with Rentt taking down the giant skeleton with divinity. He also uses his divinity to heal the adventurer with him. He offers the adventurer the magic stone he acquired in exchange for help. He asks the adventurer to help him run errands back in town and allows him to eat free at his restaurant.

Returning to the town, the adventurer introduces Rentt to his wife, who is surprised by his kindness. He introduces himself as Lorris and his wife as Isabelle, and Rentt asks them to keep it a secret. As he walks to Lorrine’s place, he blanks out and enters the room.

Entering the room, he hugs her and bites her shoulder. She pushes him away and casts a spell, knocking him unconscious. As he gains consciousness, he is unable to recollect the preceding incidents but apologizes. He also heals the bite marks with his divinity. They realize he has evolved from a ghoul to a ghast, and that his mask can now change form.

They suspect that consuming flesh and blood has enabled the evolution. They also sit down to discuss the reason he has been evolving like he has. They suspect his will to become more human has shaped his trajectory. She plans to conduct many tests on him.

He then heads into the blacksmith and returns his temporary sword. Clope is disappointed with the condition of the sword but accepts it after hearing about the giant skeleton and the undiscovered part of the Labyrinth, and hands him another sword at the end of The Unwanted Undead Adventurer Episode 4.

The Episode Review

The Unwanted Undead Adventurer Episode 4 follows up with the fight against the giant skeleton, and Rentt defeats it, saving the adventurer. As Rentt reaches him, we see an interesting development when he is overwhelmed by the craving for flesh and blood and ends up biting Lorraine. In the future, if the craving comes up again, he might not be as lucky to have Lorraine around.

Another interesting development is that he undergoes an existential evolution and transforms into a ghast. Lorraine suggests that this might be because he consumed flesh and blood; however, unlike the previous transformation, he didn’t go through a physical process to transform.

Also, the previous time he transformed after killing a bunch of skeletons and slimes. That means the transformation could also be because of the giant skeleton he killed. On the other hand, if it really is human flesh and blood that caused the transformation, this will be a major challenge in the future.
