Renewed Or Cancelled?
Korean dramas have started exploring themes that were once considered taboo and Not Others is one such drama from ENA. The show is a 12-episode miniseries which is shorter than a regular K-drama and narrates the story of a mother/daughter duo, Eun-mi and Jin-hee.
After raising Jin-hee on her own, Eun-mi is a feisty younger-looking mom who loves to live life on her own terms. Now, as the first season of Not Others has finally ended, there is one lingering question that many fans have after watching the season finale. Has this been renewed?
If you’ve finished watching this one, you may be wondering if Not Others has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know so far:
What is Not Others about?
The show is based on the webtoon Namnam (남남) written by Jeong Young-rong which follows the story of a mother-daughter duo – Kim Eun-mi and Kim Jin-hee. After having Jin-hee when she was just a high-schooler, Eun-mi is not a regular mom but a cool mom. After growing up in her childish mother’s shadow, Jin-hee is finally ready to discover the world on her own.
The only catch here is that Jin-hee, who is a rookie cop, still lives with Eun-mi who works as a nurse. The mother-daughter duo try to find romance in their respective lives as they struggle to balance their relationship with each other at the same time.

Will there be a Season 2 of Not Others?
At the time of writing, ENA has not renewed Not Others for a second season. Given the nature of this series, that could change if it does good numbers for the streamers.
Generally, streaming platforms gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly. Other times, it can take months before the streaming platform makes a decision over a show’s future.
So far, Not Others has had a pretty positive reaction from audiences and critics alike within the initial days of its release. The show is currently seeing favourable reviews with an 8.2/10 rating on MyDramaList at the time of writing.
With all that considered, we predict that ENA will not renew Not Others for a follow-up season considering the way things ended. Now, that could very well not be the case given the fact that popular K-dramas have been renewed for a new season, despite ending on a conclusive note due to their popularity.
What We Know About Not Others Season 2 so far:
Barely anything is known about Not Others Season 2 right now. Given most Korean dramas are reserved for one season, it’s rare for such mini-series to be renewed. The conclusion of Not Others Season 1 cements this prediction as well.
Having said that though, if there were a season 2 of Not Others it would probably cover Jin-hee’s journey after coming back from her year-long trip. We could also see a possible marriage between Eun-mi and Jin-hong or a possible relationship between Jin-hee and Jae-won in the upcoming season. As mentioned above, we predict that this will not be renewed but we’ll have to wait and see what happens.
